Тема: At School. Tips to Study.

Тип уроку: урок  розвитку мовленнєвих навичок та узагальнення лексичного матеріалу

      Мета уроку:

  • практикувати у вживанні тематичної лексики в усному та писемному мовленні
  • удосконалювати навички аудіювання
  • удосконалювати навички пошукового читання
  • розвивати навички усного та писемного мовлення

 

Обладнання: мультимедійна презентація, тематичні малюнки, НМК  English 8”, аудіо запис «Study Tips”, відео фрагмент, роздатковий матеріал

 

Хід уроку:

 

I. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1.  Повідомлення теми та мети уроку: Today we are going to continue our work about school – the place you spend  most of your time. When we are speaking about school, what words come to you mind first? (orally) (ppt slide 1)

 

 

   

 

 

Not only things and subjects are connected with school, but also your feelings. Look at these photos from your last year lessons and tell what do you feel about them? Are there any unusual lessons? Why? (ppt slide 2)

  • So, as you see today we are going to deal with studying preferences and the ways how to make your education at school better

2. Мовленнєва розминка.

a) Whole-Class Discussion: Everyone agrees that education is very important. And there are a lot of quotes by famous people, some of them are here. I’d like you to read them and say which one do you support most of all and why.  (ppt slide 3)

b) Education is first of all cooperation and we should vote for some rules how to work at class. (ppt slide 4)

c) Pair Question-Cross: Ps ask different questions choosing from the Question-Cross (in pairs) – Time limit: 2 min.   Control: 3 questions as a class discussion. (ppt slide 5 + HO1)

3) Актуалізація опорних знань

a) Vocabulary Group-Work. Do you often forget to do your homework. What do you usually say in excuse? Use the pictures & make up sentences with the excuses for not doing a homework.

Control: orally (ppt slide 6)

Home task check-up: Have you solved the crossword? Were the words difficult? (Ex.9 p.41 – on whiteboard + ppt slide 7-8)

Ex.10 p.42 – Matching orally (ppt slide 9)

II. Основна частина

1. Активізація лексичного матеріалу та розвиток навичок аудіювання.

1)Робота з лексичним матеріалом та розвиток аудіювання: a) Matching the opposite adjectives (ppt slide 10) – on Whiteboard

+ Grouping the positive and negative study tips (on magnet board + ppt sl. 11)

 

b) listening to the dialogue and  the test (HO + ppt slide 12-13) Control (orally + on Board)

+ check up Table with Study Tips. + discussion : Which study tips are the most important for you? Can you add any of your own? (ppt 14)

 

2) Reading and Speaking: Read (in rows) 3 texts and say which subjects do the children like or dislike and why?  (ppt slide 15)

Discussion: What is your favourite subject and why?

 

 

3) Watching and Listening (sociocultural development): watch the video about Melanie Reuter and try to find out the info about her age, family, roots, favourite food, hobbies, subject etc. (ppt slide 16) Control: a class discussion + Why is it important to learn your root language?

 

2. Розвиток навичок проектної діяльності. (Group mini-projects) What makes a subject interesting? (ppt slide 17) 

 

  Groups activities: using the given Models (HO+Ex. 2 p.74) make a poster
