Procedure
T: Hello, children! Glad to see you!
How are you?
Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. We’ll try to combine too school subjects as English and Computer science.
Pair work.
T: You know that laughter prolongs the life! Let’s make a joke! By the way the English language is very good for joking because most of the English words can have more than one meaning. The following science jokes have such words. They are:
You have some cards on the tables. Work in pairs. Try to match the parts of the joke and explain is funny about them.

A neutron goes into a café and asks a waiter, “How much for a beer?” |
“Are you sure?” “Yeah, I’m positive!” |

The waiter replies, “For you, no charge” |

3. Aim
T: So, today we’re going to speak about the Science, inventors and their inventions. We are going to surf the Internet to get information. But first let’s remember the safety rules in the computer room in an unusual way. Look at the tables, there you will find signal cards of green and red colors: green means - yes, and red - no. (Appendix 2)
T: Science is the engine of progress. It gives us an endless stream of information. What do you think is the fastest way to find the information you need?
Ps: The Internet.
T: Of course, the Internet allows you to quickly find the facts you need. And for what the Internet is still needed. Let’s draw up a “Internet Utility” memory card with you. Use the example. (Appendix 3)
(We use an interactive board).
Appendix 3
T: But each coin has 2 sides. I suggest you join in groups of 4 and, for example, make a map of "Disadvantages of using the Internet." You have 3 minutes to complete the task. Then share your opinion with us.
Pair work
T: Look at the list of inventions and divide it into two groups: “The best inventions of our time” and “The worst inventions of our time”. Explain your choice.
(We use an interactive board).

T: And who made all these discoveries? You are interested? Me too!
T: Match the Scientist with his/her inventions or discoveries. Copy the link to task 2.3 and add it to the search box. Use the link 2.3 (Task 3)

T: If you don’t know the answer and who the author of this discovery is, follow the link 2.4 and find out the information you need on the Internet.

4. Reading.
4.1. Pre-reading activities
T: What famous scientist/inventors do you remember? What are they famous for?
4.2. While-reading
T: Read the text below. For questions (1-12) choose the correct answer (A, B, C or D). (Appendix 5)
Appendix 5
4.3. Post-reading activities.
T: Read the text with filled in gaps. Translate is and answer the questions:
T: As we see there so many interesting things which were invented by such interesting people. Today you learned a lot of interesting facts. And by the end of the lesson I propose you to make a Quiz. Copy the link to task 5. and add it to the search box. Go to the page with the task “Quiz-game. Scientific discoveries”.
