Objectives:
- to develop students' communicative skills;
- to develop students' creative imagination, memory;
- to practise students in monological and dialogical speech;
- to enlarge students' knowledge about the world of nature;
- to bring up careful attitude to animals.

Equipment: coloured pencils, handouts, flashcards.
Procedure
I. Introduction. Warming-up
T: Good morning, children! How are you?
Ss: Good morning, teacher! We're fine, thank you.
T: How do you go? - Quickly!
How do you jump? - Highly!
How do you play? - Merrily!
How do you dance? - Beautifully!
How do you learn English? - With pleasure!
T: Ok. Let's start our lesson. The topic of our lesson is "At the Zoo".
* Phonetic drills

* Language Practice
T: Children, do you like animals?
Ss: Yes, we do.
T: What animals do you know?
Ss: They are wild and domestic.
T: What animals are wild/domestic? (Діти називають.) Where do the wild/domestic animals live?
Ss: The wild animals live in the forest./The domestic animals live on the farm.

T: Today we speak about animals at the Zoo.

T: Read the dialogues and make up your own.
1) - This is a wolf.

2) - That is a frog.
- What colour is it?
- It's green.
- Can the frog fly?
- No, the frog cannot fly. It can jump.
* Relaxation Time
T: Now it's time for a short rest. Let's move like animals (mining and reciting).
The fish swims,
The monkey climbs,
The dog runs,
The kangaroo jumps,
The bear walks
And nobody talks!
* Game
T: Choose and clap your hands when you hear the names of the animals that you can see at the Zoo.
Monkey, pen, mouse, bed, giraffe, cat, wolf, crocodile, cow, dog, pig, lion, doll, elephant, bear, cock, puppy.
* Listening
T: Listen to the poem "Brown Bear" and colour the animals.
Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?
I can see a green bird.
Green bird, green bird, what do you see?
I see a yellow duck.
Yellow duck, yellow duck, what do you see?
I see blue horse.
Blue horse, blue horse, what do you see?
I see a red frog.
T: I see that you are very good painters. And now ask your classmates about the colours of the animals in your pictures.
