Procedure
1.Introduction
1.1.Categorizing activite. Start the lesson by saying “Hello”. Start with the poem “Good morning” and ask pupils:
How are you? Are you fine?
Encourage pupils to tell and explain their mood.
1.2. Go on speaking about the topic of the lesson, about school. Tell pupils the topic and the aim of the lesson:
-to repeat the words, poems;
-role-playing dialogues;
-games.
1.3. Warming-up. Introduce pupils’ Phonetical Exercise. See Worksheet 1(all together). Explain them how to do it. Correct any mistakes in the pupils’ speech
1.4. Propose to play «What’s this» game(using topic “School” and pictures) (Worksheet 2). Hand out the cards and ask students questions.
For example: Start with showing the desk’s picture and ask:
Т:Is this an apple? Ps:No, it isn’t.
T:Is this a doll? Ps No, it isn’t.
T:Is this a desk? Ps:Yes, it is...
And so on…
2. The main part of the lesson
2.1. Oral Practice. Role-play the dialogues in pairs on the topic «My school» using the lay-out (Worksheet 3). (Inform pupils that they are going to watch the video. After watching - translate together, make up and work out dialogues in pairs)
Physical Activity (using video-song)
2.2.Propose pupils to move a little. Explain them that they have to do your commands, but in groups: boys (when you say: ”boys”) and girls(when you say: ”girls”). For example:
Т: Stand up, girls!
2.3.Pre-reading task. Guessing game. Start by saying words on the topic «School» one by one. The last one – is the winner. He gets a smile-card.
2.4. While reading task (Worksheet 5). Each person has to read the words on the cards. First - you read the words, pupils repeat after you, then they read all together, after that – one by one.
2.5.Writing Practice. Divide pupils so that they get different cards in writing. Worksheet 4.
Tell them to work individually. Get them to choose the task which appeal to them most of all and do it.
3. Conclusion
3.1. Make the conclusion of the lesson, speaking about each pupil. Use the follow-up activity. Have the talk with pupils. Get to know about their thoughts and fillings of the lesson.
