PROCEDURE
T: You students, I am glad to see you today. Let’s start our lesson with reading a very short rhyme.
RHYME
Breakfast in the morning,
Dinner in the day
Tea comes after dinner,
Then comes time to play.
Supper in the evening,
When the sky is red,
Then the day is over
And we go to bed.
T: Let’s revise the school subjects you have learnt in the previous lessons. Look at the blackboard and make up one sentence with one of the subjects.
Example.
My favourite subject is French.
Possible list of subjects:

Maths
Art
English
French

IT
T: So, the topic of our lesson is “Comparison of British and Ukrainian schools”. We are also going to focus on grammar and revise the use of the Present Simple tense.
Now, split into groups of three and discuss the following questions.
Possible questions for discussion.
How many subjects do you study at school?
What is your favourite subject?
What is your usual timetable?
How much time do you spend preparing for your classes?
How often do you have exams?
How often do you have IT?
Do you use computers in the Internet in the lessons?

T: Do you think your peers in the English-speaking countries have the same timetable and similar subjects? Read and find out.

T: Who are these people?
She doesn’t go to school.
He has lessons in the afternoon.
She starts three languages.
He likes history.
He does his homework for three hours.
She starts school at 7:30.
She has lessons on the radio.
She goes to sports camps watching.
T: Let’s watch an episode about British schools.
(Teacher prepares any film about British education beforehand).
While watching pay attention to the following information.
T: Split into two groups. The first group will prepare a project about about our school “Maria”.
Second group will make a project about about British school.
Then present your projects in front of the class.
T: What new information about the English-speaking countries schools have you learnt today? Do they differ much from ours?
At home write a letter to your friend from one of the English-speaking countries about your usual working day. See you next time!
