Урок англійської мови для 5 класу

на тему: «Україна. Національні символи України.»

Підготувала учитель Расько Г.Г.

Мета: 1. Ознайомити учнів з лексичними одиницями теми уроку

        2. Удосконалювати техніку читання.

             3. Навчати учнів розповідати про національні символи України та інших держав.

             4.  Практикувати учнів у вживанні простих часів.

        5.  Продовжувати формувати навички письма.

        6. Виховувати любов та повагу до своєї держави.

Обладнання: Підручник А.Несвіт «Ми вивчаємо англійську мову», малюнки з зображенням національних символів України та інших держав,  картки для самостійної роботи .

 Тип уроку: Розвиток мовленнєвих умінь учнів.

Хід уроку

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1. Greeting.

Teacher: Good morning, children!

               How are you today?

               I think you are healthy. Am I right?

              That’s very nice.

2. Phonetic drill.

Teacher:    Let’s repeat the proverb

Wealth is nothing without health.

3. Aim.

Teacher: Dear children! Today we’ll continue speaking about our Motherland. We’ll read and learn about Ukrainian National Symbols.

4. Warming up.

Teacher: Well, children! Now we’ll work in pairs. Take the cards with the phrases and make up the dialogues.

 –   Where are you from?

 –   I am from Ukraine.

 –   What is your nationality?

 –   I  am Ukrainian.

• Do you live in the town or in the village?
• I live in the village.
• Where do you live?   
• I live in Kizlivka.    

5. Сheck on Homework.

Teacher: Well, children. I want to listen to your sentences about our Motherland.

1. Pre-reading

Teacher: Look at the blackboard and sound the words loudly.

Teacher: Every country has its national symbols.

What National Symbols of Ukraine can you see on page 156?

What colours has the Ukrainian Flag?

What is the anthem? Anthem is the National song.

Do you know the name of the National Ukrainian Anthem?

2. Reading the text.

Teacher: Now, children, open your books on page 156. We shall read the text of exercise 2. (4 pupils read the text)

3. Post-reading.

Teacher: Take the cards and match two parts of the sentences

4. Speaking.

Teacher: Dear children! Let’s play the game “Guess the Country”. Take the cards, describe the flags. The others have to guess the country.

This flag is blue, white and red. It has 50 stars and 13 stripes. (The USA)

This flag is blue, white and red. It has three crosses. (Great Britain)

This flag is white, blue and red. (Russia)

This flag is red and white. It has a maple leaf on the white field. (Canada)

5. Physical Warming up.

I stand up straight,

I raise my hands,

I bend down,

I touch my toes.

I stand up straight,

I raise my hands,

I stretch my arms sideways,

I bend my body.

6. Grammar Practice

Teacher: Now we’ll do exercise 4 on page 157. Read and choose the correct item.

7. Writing

Teacher: Write the verbs given in brackets in the correct tense.

1. Next week our class _________________ (to go) to the Historical Museum.
2.  Look! They _______________________ to walk) along the street towards the underground.
3. Ukrainian people __________________ (to keep) their traditions with great honour.
4. We __________________ (to travel) along the Dnipro last summer.

Exercise 5 on page 157. Write what countries these people are from.

2. Summarizing

Teacher: Today we learned a lot about National symbols of Ukraine. Let’s see what you remember.

What are the national symbols of Ukraine? What do you know about them?

What are the colours of the Ukrainian flag? What do they mean?
