Тема: Столові прибори. Сервіровка стола (“Jobs And Professions”)

Мета: активізувати вживання в мовленні учнів лексику по темі "Робота і професія" через різні види мовленнєвої діяльності: читання, говоріння, письмо; ознайомити зі столовими приборами та правилами сервіровки стола засобами англ. мови; вдосконалювати навички усного і писемного мовлення; удосконалювати вміння робити висновки за допомогою технології  роботи в парах; розвивати мовленнєві, інтелектуальні та пізнавальні здібності, зорову й довготривалу пам'ять, увагу, уяву; розвивати в учнів уміння аналізувати свої особистісні якості, стосовно  даної професії; сприяти розвитку вміння визначати професійні якості особистості; сприяти вихованню розуміння в учнів важливості і необхідності реалізації своїх умінь і здібностей через обрану професію; розширювати кругозір, виховувати любов до знань та бажання дізнаватися більше нового.

Компетентності: спілкування іноземними мовами, математична компетентність, основні компетентності у природничих науках і технологіях, уміння вчитися впродовж життя, ініціативність і підприємливість, соціальна та громадянська компетентності

Today we are going to speak about jobs and professions. You will learn how to use the word "job", "profession", "occupation" and "career"

3. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу

Work in pairs. Make a list of jobs which are popular today.

Pupils work in pairs and make a list of some popular jobs.

Possible answers: a doctor, a lawyer, a designer, a politician, a computer programmist, an accountant etc.

You are right. A lawyer, a journalist, a politician, a manager, a computer programmist are popular nowadays.   But on the other hand you can’t do without daily bread, the ABC, the health protection. That’s why farming, schooling and medicine are also of great importance.

So, pupils, let's revise all the professions you know.
Write down the names of professions in your word-web. (Потім учні по ланцюжку читають назву професій, які вони згадали.)
Teacher: There are a lot of classifications of professions. Now we'll classify them in 6 groups. Students listen to the definitions of each group and think over about the examples of professions:
WE MAY DIVIDE THE PROFESSIONS IN 6 GROUPS
Clerical - the jobs are done in offices and deal with people or simple office machinery.
Scientific - the jobs that need a background of interest in one sort of science.
Practical - the biggest group of all, it depends on skills other than those needed in exams.
Outdoor - these jobs are easier to find in the country than in the town.
Creative - these jobs need flair, skill and lots of luck.
Social jobs are ones where you help other people.

How to lay a cover

When you lay a cover you need the following cutlery and tableware:

  • main knife and fork
  • fish knife and fork
  • soup spoon
  • side knife
  • glassware
  • napkin.

Rules of setting a table:

  • Put the cutlery, crickery and glasses on the table before the guests come.
  • Wipe and polish all cutlery and glassware before you put them on the table.
  • Put the main knife and fork 1 cm from the edge of the table.
  • Put the side plates at the left side.
  • Put the side knives on the side plates.
  • The blades of all knives must face left.
  • Put the wine glasses in front of the main knife.
  • Put a folded napkin in the centre of the side plate or at the right side of the cutlery.
  • A vase for flowers, cruets-sets and an ashtray are in the centre of the table.
