Students: Good morning, teacher! We are nice!
Teacher: So, let`s start our lesson! Take your seats, please.

II. The main part of the lesson
Grammar Point: The 1st Conditionals.
Teacher: Conditionals are two parts sentences which are connected with the word «if». With all conditionals, when we start the sentences with «if», we must use a comma. When «if» is in the middle of the sentence, we don`t use a comma.
Example: If the weather is good, I will go out.
I will go out if the weather is good.
Teacher: So, we use the 1st Conditional to express the strong possibility that something will happen in the future or it`s used to talk about things which might happen in the future.
Example: If you eat all this food, you will feel sick.
I will come early if you want.
If people pollute the seas and the air, they will become ill.
She will be thin if she does exercises.
The structure of the 1st Conditional |
IF + Present Simple, Future Simple (will/won`t) or Modal + verb |
Note: We use a comma after the «if-clause».
Example: If you lend me your car, I will clean it every day.
Teacher: But when the 1st Conditional is … !!!
The structure of the 1st Conditional |
Future Simple (will/won`t) or Modal + verb +IF + Present Simple |
Note: We don`t use a comma in the sentence.
Example: I will clean it every day if you lend me your car.
Teacher: Please, open your books on page 157 and look at the table. Read the information about «Conditional I».
Students: We are ready!
Teacher: OK! So, tell me, please, when do we use the 1st Conditionals? How are they formed? When do we use a comma in Сonditionals? And when we don`t use a comma? (The students answer the questions).
Teacher: And now let’s watch, listen and learn the song Bruno Mars «Count on me» (URL - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqDToTXTazQ).
Teacher: Do you like the song?
Students: Yes, of course!
Teacher: Yes, you are right! This song is about friendship! And here we have got the 1st Conditionals.
Example: If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea, I will sail the world to find you (Якщо ти коли-небудь застрянеш посеред моря, я перепливу весь світ, щоб знайти тебе).
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can`t see, I will be the light to guide you (Якщо ти коли-небудь заблукаєш в темряві і не зможеш бачити, я буду світлом, щоб вести тебе).
Teacher: And now do Ex. 1 on p. 157 (in oral form). Match to make up the 1st Conditional Sentences.
Teacher: Please, do Ex. 2 on p. 158 (in oral form). Remember about Dora and answer the questions with the words in brackets.
III. The Ending of the lesson
