T: Today we’ll continue learning the topic “Around Great Britain and Ukraine” and you’ll have a possibility to take a tour to the United Kingdom.

Subtopic: “Travelling to Great Britain”

Learning outcomes: by the end of the lesson you will be able to listen to and understand the weather forecast for today in the UK; to make and present the projects according to the situations (to plan your trip to the UK).

T: Read the new words:

T: Let’s play a game “Two truths and one lie”. Read and tell what statements are True and False.

Етап 7.  Аудіювання (прогноз погоди у Великий Британії)

Прийом: активне слухання з метою одержання інформації (2 рази)

T: Now, you’ll listen to a real weather forecast in the UK.

News reporter: Here is the weather.

Weather reporter: Welcome to the weather forecast. Now, let’s see what the weather is like today.

In the north of the country it’s very windy and cold. There is a chance of some rain too, so don’t leave home without your umbrella! The temperature is around 10º centigrade.

In the east it’s rainy all day today, I’m afraid. There may be a thunderstorm in the afternoon. The temperature is a bit higher, at around 13º.

 In the west and middle of the country the weather is dry, but cloudy. So no rain for you, but it is quite windy and the temperature is just 10º.

The south of the country has the best weather today. It’s cloudy most of the time but sunny this afternoon. The temperature is around 15º.

Do this exercise while you listen. Write the word to fill the gap.

1.  In the north of the country the temperature is around  ten degrees. There is a chance of some rain too.

2. In the east the temperature is a bit higher, at around thirteen degrees. There may be a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

3. In the west and middle of the country the temperature is just ten degrees.

4. The south of the country has the best weather today. The temperature is around fifteen degrees.

-Plan your trip to one part of the UK.

-Consider the weather and make a list of ten things to pack.

-Discuss what to do in the UK in your free time and present the results in a form of a project.
