Тема: My favourite animal.

Мета: закріпити вивчення  нових лексичних одиниць;

            розвивати вміння та навички читання, письма, усного мовлення,                    логічного мислення, уваги та зорової пам’яті;

           удосконалювати навички аудіювання;

           виховувати в учнів ціннісне ставлення до природи.

Обладнання: підручник English Plus 1, тематичні картки, таблиця ступенів порівняння прикметників, магнітофон, телевізор

Тип уроку: комбінований

Procedure

1. Introduction

1. Greeting

T: Good morning, dear children! Nice to meet you! How are you?

P: We’re fine. Thank you. How are you?

T: I’m fine too. Let’s sing a song.

Hello! Good morning!

Hello! Good morning! Hello! Hello!

How are you? How are you?

I am fine. Thank you.  (4 times)

2. Warming up
   1. T: Look at the blackboard. Listen and guess the animal. Then find it on the picture.

It is a big and grey animal. It can walk. It has a very long nose. It lives in India and Africa. (An elephant)

It lives in the river. It doesn’t eat fish. It is green. (a frog).

It is from Africa. It is green. It is big. It is strong and dangerous. It can swim very well. It likes fish. (a crocodile).

It is grey, strong. It can run, jump. It likes meat. (a wolf).

It is from Russia. It is very big and brown. It can run, climb. It lives in the forest.  (a bear).

It is grey in summer and  white in winter. It can run and jump. It has got long ears and a small tail. It likes carrots. (a rabbit).

It is not small.  It is  not big. It can run, jump, climb. It likes milk. It likes mice. It lives in the house. (a cat).

It is red and It has a fine tail, It lives in the forest, It likes meat. (a fox)

2. T: Let’s do ex.1, p. 34 (WB).Complete the words in the sentence.

3. Aim

T: The topic of today’s lesson is Wild animals. By the end of the lesson we’ll be able to revise vocabulary, to practice superlative adjectives and modal verb can/can’t.

 

4.  Checking  homeworks

T: Your homework was to write a leaflet about the animals which is in danger. Let’s read your leaflets.

 

II. Main part

1. Practicing Vocabulary
   1. T: Look at the picture and say the animal

(картинки зі словами на дошці)\

2. T: Complete the animals with the missing vowels. Let’s do ex.1, p.40 (учні пишуть слова на дошці)

 

2.  Listening
3. Pre-listening activities:

T: What animals are in danger? Why?

4. While-Listening: 

T: Listen to the radio programme about pandas and choose the correct words.

5. Post-listening: 

T: Listen to the text one more time and answer the questions.

• Where do giant pandas live?
• Do they eat a lot?
• What are babies pandas?
• How heavy is the adult panda?
• Can the giant panda run fast/

 

3. Grammar Revision: using can/can’t

1. T: What does it mean the verb can/can’t?

                                    The ostriches can run fast.

                                    The ostriches can’t… .

                                    Can the ostriches…?

2. T: Write questions and short answers. Use can/can’t. Ex. 5, p.40. Work in pairs. Ask and answer.
3. Reading.

T: Let’s do ex.2, p.40

1. Pre-reading task:

T: Read the text and complete it with the verbs.

2. While-reading task:

T: Read the text and guess the animal.

3. Post-reading task:

T: What animal is it?

2. Revising the superlative adjectives.

(учні повторюють утворення вищого і найвищого ступенів порівняння  прикметників і з словами- винятками)

 

T: How do we form the superlative adjectives?

1. T: Choose the correct words and complete the text. Ex.2, p.34 (WB)

 

                         b) T: Complete the sentences with a superlative adjectives.   Ex.3, p.34 (WB)

5) Physical Activity

  T: Well done, children. I see you know the vocabulary and you can use it in your speaking. But now we must have a rest. Let’s do and act.

              Clap your hands (2). Listen to the music

6) Speaking

 

T: Now complete the dialogue with the words in the box. Ex.6, p.40 .Then act it out in pairs.

 

7) Play a game “Do you know…?

– знайти всі сховані назви тварин.

III. Final part.
