Тема. Наука та винаходи.

Мета: ввести та активізувати ЛО теми; закріпити лексичний матеріал теми; формувати та розвивати навички читання вголос і навички вимови;  удосконалювати мовленнєві навички та навички письма; вчити використовувати набуті знання в усному мовленні та удосконалювати їх; формувати в учнів уміння логічно та послідовно викладати власні думки;

          розвивати слухову пам’ять, увагу, логічне мислення та мовну здогадку, уміння працювати самостійно; розвивати комунікативні здібності учнів;

            виховувати зацікавленість у розширенні своїх знань щодо різних винаходів та їх винахідників, знаменитих вчених; доброзичливе ставлення до своїх однокласників. 

Тип уроку: урок закріплення знань

Обладнання: робочий зошит, словник, книга, канцелярське приладдя,                                                    дошка

Методи та методичні прийоми: словесні (розповідь, опис, бесіда), наочні (схема на дошці), практичні (вправи)

Форми організації пізнавальної діяльності учнів: фронтальна, колективна, індивідуально-відокремлена

Хід уроку

l. Організаційний етап

Т: Good morning, pupils! I am glad to see you!

P: Good morning, teacher! We are too.

T: Thanks. Take your seats, please. Who is on duty today?

P: I am.

T: Who is absent today?

P: … is (are) absent (All are present) today.

T: What date is today?

P: Today is Thursday, the sixteenth of February.

T: Well, thank you.

T: What homework was for today?

P: Our homework was to read and translate text on page 222 and answer the questions oral exercise 2 on page 84, and in written exercise 3 on page 85.

T: Now let’s check your homework. Read and translate the text. Say if these sentences are true or false.

lll. Підготовка учнів до засвоєння нових знань (мотивація)

Т: Today we continue to learn about science and innovations in our life. We are going to speak about outstanding innovations, their inventors, and famous scientists. Today we are going to review about the theme "Science and innovations" and we'll do different exercises and tasks and learn new words.

Мовна розминка.          Warming-up

a) Brainstortorming 

Make up mind-map. Do inventions improve our lives? Do you know how? Look at the mind-map. Can you give adjectives describing our lives with inventions? You’ve got sheets of papers, write down the word and stick to the blackboard.

b) Answer the question:           Інтерактивний прийом «Мікрофон».

Where and how can we feel a great effect of modern technology and inventions on our lives?

Pupil 1: Both at home and at work, we can feel a great effect of modern technology on our lives. Washing machines, dishwashers, microwaves have made our life much easier. Less time we need to spend doing things like washing and cleaning.

Pupil 2: In the office computers, emails and photocopiers have revolutionized the way we work. People in different parts of the world communicate with each other easily, and business can be done much more quickly.

Pupil 3: Тhe business world is constantly changing and the result of it is that we should learn new skills in order to keep up with all the latest technological advances.

T: Today weʼll learn new words on page 92. Take your vocabularies and write these words with their translations. Than repeat after me new words.

V, Vl. Первинне закріплення знань

1. Закріплення лексичного матеріалу

Т: Now you do exercise 5 on page 93-94. You’ll write only 10 words from the box in correct order and fill in this exercise.  You will get ʼ7ʼ points, if you do it correct. On this task you have 7 -10 minutes. Then, pupils, change your exercise-books and check this exercise with me.  

2. Фізична та мовленнєва розминка

Т: Let's repeat how the sound [ δ] is pronounced. Remind me which two letters form this sound (th). I think it will be not difficult for you. Now listen to me and repeat the sounds. Clap your hands if you hear the sound [ δ ] and don't do anything if you hear another sounds: zoo, zebra, think, this, their, sister, zero, is, that, father, zoology, mother, degree, brother, biology.

Т: Now you do ex. 5(b) on page 94 and answer the questions. You can get ʼ5’ points, if you do it correct.

Т: Now take and write down your homework.

 Your homework is to prepare part of an exhibition about the work of a famous scientist or inventor and to do ex. 6 on page 94. You can get ʼ9ʼ points, if you do it correct and you get ʼ11ʼ points, if you retell it. Learn by heart new words on page 92. So, our lesson is over. Goodbye, pupils! Have a nice day!
