 Хід заняття гуртка.

І. Організаційна частина заняття гуртка.

а) Greeting.

                      Dear friends!

We begin our contest for all true lovers of the English language. Two

teams are invited. They are: the girls’ team - “Ladybird”

and the boys’ team -“White dragon”!

So, teams – on the stage!

But first let me introduce the jury…

(Викладач знайомить команди із членами журі).

                      - A real gentleman, a teacher of English and

The head of the jury is Lifintcev N.G.,

                      - His first assistant is the teacher of English___________________

                      - His second assistant is the teacher of English_________________

                      - His third assistant is the teacher of English___________________

Let the teams introduce themselves, their captains

                          and their mottoеs.

b) Team “Ladybird”.            Our motto: “All for one, one for all!”

                                              Our captain’s name is Julia!

Team “White dragon”.     Our motto: “Our union, friends, is beautiful indeed!”

                                              Our captain’s name is Sergey!

                                                                     Introduction (3 points max)

ІІ. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

Aim                   1. Повідомлення теми та мети заняття.

T: Every country has its own holidays, traditions and customs.

It’s very important to know them for better understanding the

history and life of other people.

We cannot speak about Great Britain without observing some

of its traditions and customs. If you arrive in Great Britain,

you’ll hear the word “tradition” everywhere. An Englishman

has a sentimental love for things and customs because they are

                             old.

Warm-up           2. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

T: Englishmen are known for their politeness and courtesy.

  1. Your task is to make 3 complements to the other team.

(Команди роблять компліменти.)

For example:

  • You have a style and the style is the man himself.
  • You are the heroes of our time!
  • You’re incredible!
  • You’re exciting!
  • Hip, hip hurray!
  • Peace be unto you!

                                            Compliments (1 p. x 3)

б) Активізація вивчених лексичних одиниць та

                               словосполучень.

T: Now I’ll ask each team some easy questions

just to warm you up. You must be very attentive!

                               Try to answer correctly.

  • What is the full name of the country?
  • (The full name of the country is The United

Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island).

  • What is the name of the British Prime-Minister?
  • (The name of the British Prime-Minister is Gordon

Brown).

а усі інші учасники надають повну відповідь.

                                         visiting "haunted houses" .

The term Halloween (and its alternative rendering

                                         Hallowe'en) is shortened from All-hallow-even,

as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day», which is now

also known as All Saints' Day. Irish and Scottish

immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North

                                         America in the nineteenth century.)

                                     - День Св. Валентина –                 14 лютого -

St. Valentines Day (Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's

Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14. In the

Americas and Europe, it is the traditional day on which

lovers express their love for each other by sending

Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering

confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the

numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The

day became associated with romantic love.)

                                     - Різдво                                         25 грудня -

All Fool’s Day   (April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day,

though not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day

celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is

marked by the commission of hoaxes and other

practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends,

enemies and neighbors, or sending them on fools'

errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible. In

some countries, April Fools' jokes (also called April

Fools) are only made before noon on 1 April.)

                                     My heart is not here

                                     My heart’s in the Highlands

                                     A chasing the deer.

A chasing the wild deer and following the roe

My heart in the Highlands wherever I go

Farewell to the Highlands, farewell of worth.

Wherever I wonder wherever I rove

The hills of the Highlands forever I love.

Farewell to the straits and green valleys below

Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods

Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.

S-2 – I’ll recite the poem “She walks in beauty”

by: George Gordon (Lord) Byron (1788-1824)

                                          SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY

SHE walks in beauty, like the night

                                 Of cloudless climes and starry skies;

And all that's best of dark and bright

Meet in her aspect and her eyes:

Thus mellowed to that tender light

Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,

Had half impaired the nameless grace

Which waves in every raven tress,

                                 Or softly lightens o'er her face;

                                 Where thoughts serenely sweet express

How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

                         Reciting poems (3 p. max.)

T: We are having the Art contest now!
