AUDIOSCRIPT

Video: Allison, "What I wore to get my job" (Rent the Runway). Paste the transcript in the box below.

0:01

(DESCRIPTION) A crew member snaps a clapper board in front

0:03

of a blonde woman on a stool, Allison.

0:05

(SPEECH) Hi, I'm Allison, and this is what I wore to

0:08

get my job at Rent the Runway.

0:09

(DESCRIPTION) She holds a light gray long sleeved shirt

0:12

and neon yellow skirt on a hanger, and boots with neon yellow soles in her other hand.

0:18

Text. Get My Job. True stories of how people got their job.

0:22

(SPEECH) When I was getting ready for my Rent the Runway

0:24

interview, I went on social media for Rent the Runway to see what other people were wearing,

0:28

and that really helped me. I just picked something out of my closet that was really bright, thinking

0:32

maybe that would help them remember me, and it was something I felt really comfortable

0:36

in too.

0:37

(DESCRIPTION) She models the interview outfit, wearing tortoise

0:39

shell glasses, a hoop nose ring and earrings, and a chunky necklace.

0:43

(SPEECH) And one thing I remember is that I chose to

0:46

wear my nose ring, which is something I would normally take out for an interview, but I

0:50

was thinking to myself, these people just need to accept me, and if they do, that I

0:54

know it's the right fit.

0:55

If I were to tell someone how to prepare and be dressed for an interview, I would really

1:00

say to pick something that really exemplifies who you are, and that you feel really confident

1:05

in. The one thing I consciously avoided was actually my classic interview outfit that

1:11

I've had for many years, which is this navy blue suit, and I was determined to wear anything

1:17

other than that suit, basically. So I got dressed the way that I felt was right, and

1:22

that's how I got my job.

1:24

(DESCRIPTION) Text, Indeed.
