Microtopic: What is your name?

Objectives:

• To develop greeting skills, young learners will be able to  greet each other.
• Learn pupils to ask and answer their names using possessive pronouns – my, your in this English lesson.
• Introduce English to young learners. 

Learning outcomes : By the end of the lesson  young learners will be able  to ask and answer their names  – a self-introduction lesson

Vocabulary:      Hello

                          My name is [_____]   What is your name?

                          Good morning ,  Good afternoon,   Good evening, Good night, Good Bye

Grammar items: possessive pronouns – my, your

Materials to be used: Interactive board, Power Point presentation, toys

Procedure:

1. Warm up

Greeting    

  T.: Hello, children. My name is  _________    

 Т: Children, сьогодні ми з вами починаємо вивчати дуже цікаву чарівну, мову. Вона допоможе нам подорожувати до інших країн, зустрічати нових людей, пізнавати світ. У цьому нам допомагатиме наш помічник TeddyBear. Ви згодні? So let’s start!

T:  Today with the Teddy Bear we’ll learn to greet each other in English. Teddy Bear will help you to ask “What is your name?” and answer “My name is….”.  We’ll greet each other with the words  “Hello”, “Hi”, “Good morning”, “Good afternoon”, “Good evening”, “Good night”, “Good Bye”, “Bye-Bye”.    

II Presentation of new material

1. Working on vocabulary  

1) Вчитель та помічник Teddy Bear  вчить дітей вітатись англійською мовою.

2) Teddy Bear introduces itself :

3) Physical Activity

T: Standup, please! ( вчитель намагається ввести ще одну нову лексичну одиницю на уроці фразу «Встаньте - Standup, please  » і жестами рук допомагає зрозуміти дітям, що означає дана фраза). One, two, threeпочали!

1.     Game “Finish the sentence”

We have a rest and now let’s repeat what we have learnt today at the lesson. I tell you the word and you finish it:

T: morning  -   Ps: Good morning.

T: afternoon -   Ps: Good afternoon.

T: evening  -  Ps: Good evening.

T: night -  Ps: Good night.

III.Summarizing

T: Look at the pictures and try to guess the words: The teacher shows pupils slides and they try to guess either it is morning or night, whether to say hello or goodbye.

Dear children, we’ve worked nice today. And now let’s repeat with the teddy bear our words

and word combinations….
