II. Warm – up.
T.: The day is great today, what season is it now?
Ps.: It’s spring now.
T.: Name the spring months.

T.: How is the weather today?
Ps.: It is sunny. It’s warm.
T.: What can you do outdoors in such weather?
Ps.: I can play football. I can ride a bike. I can play tag. I can run and jump.
T.: This lesson will be unusial. I invite you to travel around Kyiv. I propose you to be guides for our guests and tell them about places of interest. I think we’ll travel there by bus. Get your tickets and fill in some information about yourself for registration.

T.: We are in Kyiv at the bus station. But we have lost. Find your partner. Tell your partner what place of Kyiv you want to visit.
Ps.: a) Excuse me. How can I get to the cinema?
b) Cross the street and turn left. You can see the Zoo.
e) Yes, there is. Cross the street and go along Khreshchatyk Street. Turn left. The restauraunt is on your right.
f)You should go along the street to the Kids World. Then you should turn right and you can see a big City church.

Ps 1 Kyiv.
T.: Invite you to go to the centre of Kyiv.
Ps 2 Maidan Nezalezhnosti.(Independence square) We are in the centre of Kyiv. Look, here is Maidan Nezalezhnosti. It is the main square in Kyiv. In the centre of the square there is a Triumphal arch and the monument of the Kyiv’s founders: Kyi, Shchek and Khoryv.
T.: There are many museums in Kyiv.
Ps 3 The Natural History Museum, the Museum of Historical Treasure, the Ukrainian Art Museum. Here you can see Pyragov, the Museum of folk architecture. Each of them has hundreds of interesting collection.
T.: Welcome to the main street of Kiev.
Ps 4 Khreshchatik. The street is only one kilometre long but it’s very impressive . Besides government offices and administrative building you can see large shops, cinemas and restaurants.
T.: And where are we now?
Ps 5 It’s Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra. Kyiv is famous for it. More than 80 buildings were built on its territory. Lavra’s Bell Tower is one of the highest place in the city.
T.: There are many beautiful cathedrals in Kyiv.
Ps 6 You can see splendid cathedrals in the city. Mikhailivs’kiy cathedral, Vladimerskiy cathedral and the most famous is Saint Sophia Cathedral. The founder of it was Yaroslav the Wise. It was named after Saint Sophia – “wisdom” in Greek.
T.: And now Caroline tells us about this monument.
Ps 7 This is the monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky. He was the leader of the Ukrainian people against the Polish yoke.
T.: Good job. It was very interesting stories.
