     Тема: Kyiv. The main city of my country.

     Мета: Повторити і закріпити лексичний матеріал теми.

Продовжувати формувати навики усного мовлення та письма.

Провести віртуальну екскурсію пам’ятками столиці.

Формувати навики  монологічного  мовлення.

Розвивати увагу, вміння зосереджуватися, фонетичний слух. Удосконалювати навички аудіювання.

 Виховувати повагу та інтерес до культурної спадщини рідної  країни.

  

   Обладнання : зошит, словник, роздаткові матеріали, фотокартки, аудіозапис пісні, комп’ютер, мультимедійна дошка, комп’ютерна презентація (слайди).

 

                                  Хід уроку:

  1. Greeting.

   T.: Good day, class!

Ps.: Good day, teacher!

T.: Pleased to see you and our guest. Welcome to our lesson.

 

II. Warm – up.

   T.: The day is great today, what season is it now?

Ps.: It’s spring now.

T.: Name the spring months.

Ps.: March, April and May.

T.: How is the weather today?

Ps.: It is sunny. It’s warm.

T.: What can you do outdoors in such weather?

Ps.: I can play football. I can ride a bike. I can play tag. I can run and jump.

 

  1. Aim.

T.: This lesson will be unusial. I invite you to travel around Kyiv. I propose you to be guides for our guests and tell them about places of interest. I think we’ll travel there by bus. Get your tickets and fill in some information about yourself for registration.

IV. Activation of knowledge.

     T.: Take your sit, please! We are at the plane now. What do you know about Kyiv? Match these words to make word sentences:

  1. Pair work. Game «We have lost».

  T.: We are in Kyiv at the bus station. But we have lost. Find your partner.   Tell your partner what place of Kyiv you want to visit.

     Ps.: a) Excuse me. How can I get to the cinema?

  1. Cross the road and go to the end of  Vladymerska Street. Turn right. Cinema is near the Sport centre.
  2. Sorry. Could you tell me the way to the Zoo?

b) Cross the street and turn left. You can see the Zoo.

  1. Excuse me. Where is the picture gallery here?
  1. Go straight ahead. The picture gallery is at the end of  Victory Street.
  2. Where is the way to the market, please?
  1. You should take the number 123 bus and get off at the Market stop.
  2. Can you help me, please? Is there any restauraunt here?

e) Yes, there is. Cross the street and go along Khreshchatyk Street. Turn left. The restauraunt is  on your right.

  1. Excuse me. How can I get to the City church?

f)You should go along the street to the Kids World. Then you should turn right and you can see a big City church.

  1. Could you tell me how to get to the supermarket?
  1. Go along Sadovaya Street to the crossing. The supermarket is at the corner on the right opposite the post office.
  2. Excuse me. Is this the right way to the bookshop?
  1. Yes, it is. Go straight ahead. The bookshop is at the end of the street.

 

VI. Pupils’ reports about sights of seeing.

 

 T.: And now our guides tell us about Kyiv and places of interest. Listen carefully, because after that you will do Kyiv Quiz.

 

Ps 1 Kyiv.

T.:  Invite you to go to the centre of Kyiv.

Ps 2 Maidan Nezalezhnosti.(Independence square) We are in the centre of Kyiv. Look, here is Maidan Nezalezhnosti. It is the main square in Kyiv. In the centre of the square there is a Triumphal arch and the monument of the Kyiv’s founders: Kyi, Shchek and Khoryv.

T.:  There are  many museums in Kyiv.

Ps 3 The Natural History Museum, the Museum of Historical Treasure, the Ukrainian Art Museum. Here you can see Pyragov, the Museum of folk architecture.  Each of them has hundreds of interesting  collection.

T.: Welcome  to the main street of Kiev.

Ps 4 Khreshchatik. The street is only one kilometre long but it’s very impressive . Besides government offices and administrative building you can see large shops, cinemas and restaurants.

 T.: And where are we now? 

Ps 5 It’s Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra. Kyiv is famous for it. More than 80 buildings were built on its territory. Lavra’s Bell Tower is one of the highest place in the city.

T.: There are many beautiful cathedrals in Kyiv.

Ps 6  You can see splendid cathedrals in the city. Mikhailivs’kiy cathedral, Vladimerskiy cathedral and the most famous is Saint Sophia Cathedral. The founder of it was Yaroslav the Wise. It was named after Saint Sophia – “wisdom” in Greek.

T.: And now Caroline tells us about this monument.

Ps 7 This is the monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky. He was the leader of the Ukrainian people against the Polish yoke.

T.: Good job. It was very interesting stories.

T.: You are very tired. Let’s have a rest. Look, over there a Park with a little pond. Do you hear how frogs are singing?

Blue, blue, blue the dress

Grey, grey, grey the rat

And so is the cat.

T.: There is a famous Zoo in  Kyiv. Let’s go there. Some of our guides have prepared reports about animals.

Ps.: Some bears live in the mountains. They can climb and run. They are very big.

Ps.: Parrots live in the forest. They can fly and sing. They are beautiful.

Ps.: Camels live in deserts. They can run and carry heavy things. They are strong.

Ps.: Tortoises live in rivers. They can swim. They are very slow.

Ps.: Penguins are black and white. They can swim, but they cannot fly.

T.: Write in your copy-books three sentences about animals. Use grammar material «Degrees of Comparison».

C.:  Size 36, I think.

S.:  Try this pair on. They are the cheapest, the lightest and the most comfortable.

C.:  How much are they?

S.:  15 grivnas

C.:  Here you are. Thanks. Good-bye!

S.:  You are welcome, good-bye!
