Meals in Ukraine
Ukrainian people have three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast time is between 8 and 9 a.m. A traditional Ukrainian breakfast is eggs, sausages, sandwiches, and a cup of tea or coffee.
People have lunch at 1 o’clock. Students usually have lunch at the canteen. Some children take a “packed lunch” from home. This is a sandwich, some biscuits or fruit: apples or bananas. They drink some juice or water.
In the evening families get together and have dinner. Ukrainian dinner is chicken and vegetables. Ukrainians like potatoes. They also eat rice or pasta.
Yesterday was Sunday. We had Easter. We cooked a lot of food. We always have some meat, sausages, eggs and Easter cakes. I like Easter cakes.
