Alex’s journey

"Hello everyone! My name is Alex. I am from Ukraine, a country known for its hospitality and beautiful traditions. When you visit our capital, Kyiv, you must see Maidan Nezalezhnosti, the golden domes of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and the ancient Golden Gate. Today it is rainy and cold, so I am wearing my leather jacket, blue jeans, and warm boots. If you travel to the west, you will see the Carpathian Mountains — they are breathtaking!

This summer, I am going to the United Kingdom. My trip starts in London, where I want to ride the London Eye and see Buckingham Palace. I also want to visit Stonehenge to see the mysterious ancient stones. After that, I will travel north to Scotland to see Edinburgh Castle, which stands on a huge rock, and enjoy the wild nature of the Highlands.

But my journey doesn't end there! I also plan to visit Northern Ireland to see the Giant’s Causeway, which looks like thousands of stone columns. My British friend Tom says that the weather in the UK is very unpredictable, so I must pack a raincoat and an umbrella. He also promised to cook a traditional English breakfast for me with eggs, bacon, and beans. I believe that despite the rain, both Ukraine and the UK have amazing sights, rich history, and wonderful nature.

Усім привіт! Мене звати Алекс. Я з України — країни, що славиться своєю гостинністю та прекрасними традиціями. Коли ви завітаєте до нашої столиці, Києва, ви обов'язково мають побачити Майдан Незалежності, золоті куполи  Києво-Печерської Лаври та стародавні Золоті ворота. Сьогодні дощово і холодно, тому я одягнений у шкіряну куртку, сині джинси та теплі черевики. Якщо ви вирушите на захід, то побачите Карпатські гори - вони просто захоплюють подих!

Цього літа я збираюся до Сполученого Королівства. Моя подорож розпочнеться в Лондоні, де я хочу покататися на «Лондонському оці» (колесі огляду) та побачити Букінгемський палац. Також я хочу відвідати Стоунхендж, щоб побачити таємничі стародавні камені. Після цього я поїду на північ до Шотландії, щоб побачити Единбурзький замок, який стоїть на величезній скелі, і насолодитися дикою природою Хайлендсу (Шотландського високогір'я).

Але моя мандрівка на цьому не закінчується! Я також планую відвідати Північну Ірландію, щоб побачити «Дорогу Гігантів», яка виглядає як тисячі кам'яних колон. Мій британський друг Том каже, що погода у Великій Британії дуже непередбачувана, тому я обов'язково маю взяти дощовик та парасольку. Він також пообіцяв приготувати для мене традиційний англійський сніданок із яєчнею, беконом та квасолею. Я вірю, що попри дощ, і Україна, і Велика Британія мають дивовижні визначні місця, багату історію та чудову природу.
