PROCEDURE
І. Introduction.
1) Greeting and Aims.
T: Good afternoon, children! Nice to see you! Sit down, please. Today we will have an unusual lesson. Today we will speak about Halloween. We will discuss some traditions of celebrating Halloween in Great Britain, sing songs, play games and do a lot of interesting activities.
Now I want to travel with you to the fairy tale.
The lyrics "The Wheels on the Bus":
The wheels on the bus go round and round.
round and round. round and round.
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
all through the town!
The people on the bus go up and down.
up and down. up and down.
The people on the bus go up and down,
all through the town!
The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep.
beep, beep beep.
beep, beep, beep.
The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep.
all through the town!
The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish.
swish, swish, swish.
swish, swish, swish.
The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish,
all through the town!
The signals on the bus go blink, blink, blink.
blink, blink, blink. blink, blink, blink.
The signals on the bus go blink, blink, blink,
all through the town!
The motor on the bus goes zoom, zoom, zoom.
zoom, zoom, zoom. zoom, zoom, zoom.
The motor on the bus goes zoom, zoom, zoom,
all through the town!
The babies on the bus go waa, waa, waa.
waa, waa, waa. waa, waa, waa.
The babies on the bus go waa, waa, waa,
all through the town!
The parents on the bus go shh, shh, shh. shh,
shh, shh. shh, shh, shh.
The parents on the bus go shh, shh, shh,
all through the town!
The mommy on the bus says, I love you. I love you, I love you
The daddy on the bus says, I love you, too.
All through the town.
II. Phonetic drill
To warm up we’ll learn a scary story: You have to read it (на презентації). But try to make a terrible, scary voice.
In a dark, dark wood there is a dark, dark house.
And in a dark, dark house there is a dark, dark room.
And in a dark, dark room there is a dark, dark cupboard.
And in a dark, dark cupboard there is a dark, dark box.
And in a dark, dark box there is a dark, dark g - h - o - s - t.
IІІ. Main part
Let’s listen the story about Halloween and answer the questions.
The word ‘Halloween’ consists of two parts – hallowed and evening. This holiday is celebrated on 31 October
In Britain children wear costumes and masks and go trick-or-treating.
Many of them carve jack-o'-lanterns out of pumpkins.
Most jack-o'-lanterns contain a candle inside. A legend says that jack-o'-lanterns are named after the man called Jack.
He can`t enter Heaven because he is a miser, and he can`t enter Hell because he plays jokes on devil.
Fortunetelling and storytelling about ghosts and witches are popular
activities.
Children dress in costumes and masks and go from door to door saying "trick or treat". The neighbours give children candies, fruit and pennies.
Fortunetelling is an important part of Halloween.
For example, a coin, a ring and a thimble are baked into a cake.
A person who finds the coin will be wealthy, a ring – will marry, a thimble – will never get married
Today, people do not believe in ghosts and witches but they like to celebrate Halloween.
1. On what day is Halloween celebrated?
2. What colours are associated with Halloween?
3. What children say on Halloween?
4. Who can walk through walls?
5. What are the symbols of Halloween?
6. What is inside of a pumpkin?
7. Name two Halloween animals
8. Who can drink blood?
9. The colour of the blood.
10. A small creature with 8 legs.
11. A woman who practises magic.
3. Song ‘HAUNTED HOUSE’
Oh no! Here we go!
Walking through the haunted house
The haunted house, the haunted house What do you see?
Boy: I see Skeletons!
Skeleton: Good evening, would you like to dance with us?
Oh no! Here we go! Walking through the haunted house

The haunted house, the haunted house What do you see?
Boy: I see a zombie! Zombie: Yes, I’m a zombie. But no, I’m not an unintelligent, people eating, troublemaker. No. I’m just an ordinary friendly zombie who enjoys knitting clothes for my monster friends.
