Autumn Holiday:
T: Today we have a holiday, devoted to the nice season of the year – AUTUMN. It’s multicoloured, rich and funny.
In autumn we start school, in autumn we have got a lot of fruit, and we can admire its red, yellow, gold and brown leaves.
S1: Spring is green,
Summer is bright,
Autumn is yellow,
Winter is white.
SONG: The Leaves of the Trees (to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus")
The leaves of the trees turn orange and red orange and red, orange and red
The leaves of the trees turn orange and red All through the town.
The leaves of the trees come tumbling down tumbling down, tumbling down
The leaves of the trees come tumbling down All through the town.
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish Swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish,
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish All through the town.
T: Let’s revise the names of the months of the year.
S-S: January, February,….
T: What poem about autumn do you know?
S-S: Thirty days have September, April , March and November. All the rest have thirty-one,

Poem: September September means its time again for going off to school. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cool.

|
Poem : November. November No sunshine, lots of rain, No warm days, snow again! No bugs or bees No leaves on trees. You must remember This is NOvember! |
SONG: Twelve Months in a year
T: Now let’s make the picture of autumn (stick the pictures of the cloud, tree, leaves, fruit, mushrooms) on the poster. Name the words.
T: Who knows some poems about autumn:
S1: PRETTY LEAVES Pretty leaves are falling down, Green, orange, yellow and brown. Here comes one coloured red, It landed on my head. |
S2: In autumn when the trees are brown, The little leaves come tumbling down. They do not make the slightest sound But lie so quietly on the ground. Until the wind comes puffing by And blows them off towards the sky.
|
S3: Leaves in the fall come tumbling down, Scarlet and yellow, russet and brown. Leaves in the garden are swept in a keep (heap) The trees are ready to sleep.
|
T: Let’s say a poem about a ladybug, who greets the autumn:
Ladybug, Ladybug Fly Away Home
Ladybug! Ladybug! |
All except one, |
S4: An Autumn Greeting
“Come”, said the Wind to the Leaves one day,
“Come over the meadows and we will play.
Put on your dresses of red and gold,
For summer is gone and the days grow cold”.
T: Who knows a story about a lazy Bear, who slept all the year round?
S-s: Play - Lazy Bear.
T: Let’s sing one more song – AUTUMN LEAVES ARE FALLING DOWN…. (видео девочка с листиком)
Autumn leaves are changing colours Changing colours/2 All over the town. Autumn leaves are falling down Falling down/2 Down to the ground. Take the rake and rake them up Rake them up/2 On the ground.

Gathering Leaves by Robert Frost
Spades take up leaves |
I make a great noise |
T: Red, yellow, orange, brown leaves are autumn treasures, which are very nice. What are the other treasures of autumn? (принести каштаны, желуди, самолётики)
S1: This is a little nut Wearing its own hat. Guess what you think it is? It’s an acorn.
|
S2: This seed flies in the wind Like a helicopter. Guess what you think it is? Maple seed.
|
S3: Squirrels like collecting these For the long winter. Guess what you think it is? It’s a chestnut.
|
T: But the main treasure in autumn is vegetables and fruit. Children, what fruit and vegetables are ripe in autumn?
S-ss: Apples, pears, grapes, nuts, tomatoes, pumpkins, plums, beets, bean, carrot, potato, corn…..
T: Let’s sing a song about a little Scarecrow which looks after all these fruit and vegetables.
I'm a Little Scarecrow
(sung to the tune of I'm a Little Teapot)
Contributed by Leanne Guenther
Thanks to Sharon for sending this in!
I'm a little scarecrow,
(Point to self)
Raggedy and worn
(Stand with arms out like a scarecrow)
I wear a hat,
(touch top of head with one hand)
And my shirt is torn
(touch shirt with other hand)
When the crows fly here,
(flap arms)
I wave and shout,
(wave arms)
"Away from my Garden
Now get out!"
(make 'shooing' motions with hands)
T: Let’s find the autumn words in this wordsearch.

Game: Have You Ever Seen a Pumpkin tune of "Have You Ever Seen a Lassie"
Have you ever seen a pumpkin, a pumpkin, a pumpkin,
Have you ever seen a pumpkin, that grows on a vine?
A round one, a tall one, a fat one, a small one.
Have you ever seen a pumpkin, that grows on a vine?
T: Now look out of the window and pay attention to the nice autumn colours:
Leaves are Falling |
Leaves are falling, |
Leaves are falling, |
Leaves are falling, |
AUTUMN WOODS |
End of the holiday: I Love Fall I love fall! Fall is exciting. It's apples and cider. It's an airborne spider. It's pumpkins in bins. It's burrs on dog's chins. It's wind blowing leaves. It's chilly red knees. It's nuts on the ground. It's a crisp dry sound. It's green leaves turning And the smell of them burning. It's clouds in the sky. It's fall. That's why... I love fall. |
|
T: Now, children, let’s regale your parents with nice fruit and say thank you them for attention
