Evelyn Glennie (text)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMZe. BJJ5 JJc&list=RDdzvt. Mk. PWQIU&index=3 Evelyn Glennie, the Grammy-winning percussionist, was born in Methlick, Aberdeen shire on 19 July 1965 just as any other normal child. Her father was Herbert Arthur Glennie, an accordionist in a Scottish country dance band. Her first instruments were the mouth organ and the clarinet.[2 She always knew that she wanted to be a musician. 2. She started losing her hearing from the age of 8. She began to complain about sore ears when she was riding on her bike in strong winds. When she was 11 it was discovered that her hearing was badly damaged. Everything suddenly looked black for Evelyn… 3. But Evelyn didn’t want to give up. One day she met Isabel, a young girl, playing the xylophone. She was brilliant and Evelyn tried to play the xylophone! 4. Then her teacher, percussionist Mr. Forbes helped Evelyn to continue with music. He taught her to listen not through her ears but to feel music through her body – to feel the vibrations while playing drums and xylophone. To tell that it hurts couldn’t hear
