London parks

Hyde park

This park is a popular tourist attraction and backdrop to many pictures. It is connected to Kensington Gardens and both are in Central London. Hyde Park is 350 acres of lush green English shrubbery and is one of the largest Royal Parks, out of the four, in London.

Regent’s park

Regent’s Park is 166 hectares, or 410.2 acres, in size. The outer circle is 4.3 kilometres long and the inner circle is 1.3 km. The inner circle also contains Queen Mary’s Gardens which has more than 30,000 roses of 400 different varieties. Like every Royal Park, Regent’s Park is a Grade I listed landscape mean its protected and can never be built over.

Kensington gardens

Kensington Gardens covers 265 acres and was originally part of Hyde Park. The Gardens with their magnificent trees are the setting for Kensington Palace, the birthplace of Queen Victoria who lived there until she became queen in 1837. Kensington Gardens began life as a King's playground but it was three royal women who created the elegant landscape we still enjoy today.

Green park

The Green Park is a peaceful triangle of mature trees and grasslands and offers a quiet retreat from city life, right next to Buckingham Palace. The Green Park is one of London’s eight Royal Parks and covers an area of just over 40 acres.

St. James’s Park

St James's Park is the oldest Royal Park in London and is surrounded by three palaces. The most ancient is Westminster, which has now become the Houses of Parliament, St James's Palace and of course, the best known, Buckingham Palace.
