Winter is the coldest season of the year.

Winter is my favorite season because of winter holidays.

When winter approaches, it gets colder and the days get shorter

We usually get the first snow in December.

The water on ponds and lakes freezes. Since we often don't know how thin or thick the ice is, it is best to be on the safe side and not to step on it.

In winter people wear warm clothes. I wear a down winter coat, a knitted hat and gloves. I also usually wear my warm fur boots.
