Тема: Активний відпочинок (Outdoor activities)

Мета уроку:

Практична:

•                 вивчити нові та повторити вивчені ЛО з теми;
•                 практикувати вживання ЛО в мовленні,
•                 вчити учнів працювати з текстом,
•                 вчити працювати в парах і приймати спільне рішення,
•                 практикувати навички сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

Розвиваюча:

•                 розвивати фонематичний слух;
•                 навички діалогічного та монологічного мовлення;
•                 розвивати пам’ять, увагу, навички аудіювання та навички порівняння та аналізу.

Виховна:

•                 виховувати сумлінне ставлення до навчання,
•                 інтерес до вивчення англійської мови.

•                 виховувати повагу до культури інших народів;
•                 виховувати естетичний смак і дбайливе ставлення до людей, які тебе оточують.

Очікувані результати: учні вміють застосовувати ЛО та граматичні конструкції з теми у мовленні, висловлюватися про позашкільну діяльність, працювати з іншомовним матеріалом (текст), розуміють іншомовне мовлення.

Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит, роздаткові матеріали, аудіо матеріали, візуальні матеріали, дошка.

Хід уроку:

І. Початок уроку

1. Привітання

- Good morning, children! I am glad to see you.

- How are you today?

- (We are fine, thank you.)

- Sit down, please.

2. Повідомлення теми та цілей уроку:

T: We have an unusual lesson today. Many guests are visiting our lesson today. Dear guests, we are glad to welcome you to our English lesson.

Today we are going to speak about outdoors activities. We’ll practice our skills in using new vocabulary, reading, listening and speaking. I wish you to be quiet and work well. Let’s begin

3. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу. (Warming up)

T.: What day is it today?

- Today is …

T.: What date is it today?

- Today is ….

T.: What season is it now?

- It is winter now.

T.:  What is the weather like today?

- It is fine.

T.:  Describe the weather, please.

- …

 T.: Let’s remember what outdoor activities you know. Now you can see the word-combination: "Outdoor Activities". Your task will be to recollect and add on the blackboard all the words and word-combinations that you associate with this word-combination using grammar rule which we learnt previous lesson.The rule is about using:

1) “play” in sports with teams, rules and competitions or tournaments.

2) go + the verb (-ing).

3)  “do” in all other recreational activities like karate, yoga, etc. (на дошці вчитель за допомогою учнів доповнює схему).

ІІ. Основна частина уроку

1. Перевірка домашнього завдання. (Check on Homework).

Now we check your homework. At home you made up the dialog about your outdoors activities. Two pairs of your group will present it.

P1: Hello, Tim! How are you?

P2: Hello, Jane! I am fine, thank you.

P1: How did you spend your weekend?

P2: O, I went to the picnic with my parents.

P1: What did you do there?

P2: My sister with my mum were walking in the forest. My dad and I were fishing.

What about your weekends?

P1: I visited my grandparents. My cousins and I were playing volleyball and hide-and-seek. I like outdoor activities very much.

P2: I like it too.

2. Тренування учнів у читанні тексту (Reading).

а) Working with the text. Pre-Reading Activity.

Для підготовки учнів до Reading, опрацьовуємо нові лексичні одиниці та задаємо кілька питань, які допоможуть краще розуміти текст:

T.: Before your reading task, let’s read and translate new words which are on your desks. Put them! First of all, we’ll translate new words.

T.: Let’s practice using of new words. On the desks you have sheets of papers with task. You need to guess and fill the blanks. Than we are going to check your answers.

1. Today we have interesting activity.

2. Our summer camp is in the countryside.

3. There were many cabins\shelter in the camp.

4. The cabin is very cosy and comfortable.

5. If you eat poisonous mushroom, you are going to be sick.

6. In the rainy weather you should feet waterproof boots.

T.: Look at the text of exercise 2 at the page 170.

1.How do you think, is it a poem, a fairytale or a letter? What is it? (I think, it is a letter.)

2. Who wrote the letter? (Cathy wrote it.)

b) Reading.

T.: Now you are going to read the text. You have 5 minutes and then I will ask you some questions about this text.

c) Post-Reading Activity.

T.: Now answer my questions:

1. Where is Cathy? (She is in the outdoor school camp.)

2. When was the best Cathy’s day? (It was yesterday.)

3. Where did Cathy live in the camp? (She lived in a cabin.)

4. What was the first activity? (Her first activity was the first-aid course)

5. What was the second activity? (Her second activity was shelter building.)

6. What did children do afternoon? (They want to the forest and learn about forest plants.)

7. Were children tired in the evening? (Yes, they were.)

T.: Well done, children. Look at the exercise 3 at the page 171. In this exercise you should choose one item to make true sentence about Cathy.

Учні по черзі зачитують речення і дають відповідь.

1 Cathy is in the countryside / a small town.

2 Cathy was sick / excited.

3 Cabins were uncomfortable / cosy.

4 Boys were more skilful / brave than girls.

5 Lunch was poisonous / delicious.

6 There were many plants / animals in the forest.

7 Cathy was sleepy / tired in the evening.

8 Cathy's wearing trainers / waterproof boots.

d) T.: Now you will have listening task. You are going to listen a recording about Cathy’s outdoor school activity. Your task is on the desks. During your listening you need to choose the right answer to make true sentences. You will have two listening.

1 The pupils were up at 6 am / 6 pm.

2 It was cold / warm early in the morning.

3 The cabins were really hot / warm.

4 Clothes helped Cathy to feel  happy / warm.

5 The whole week the weather was very nice / really bad.

6 Cathy would / wouldn't  like to go there again.

ІІІ. Завершальна частина уроку. (Підсумки. Домашнє завданння. Оцінювання.) (Summarizing)

Вчитель робить висновки. Дає домашнє завдання + пояснення та виставляє оцінки.

T.: Well, it was my pleasure to work with you today. You worked very hard. Tell me, what new words have you learnt?

T.: Which new outdoor activities did you know from this lesson?

Your home assignment is to learn new words and make up project about your “Top 10 outdoors activities”
