2.7 Performance the Sonnet #130-P8 My mistress's eyes are nothing like the sun;Coral is far more red than her lips;If snow is white, then her breasts are a brownish gray;If hairs are like wires, hers are black and not golden. I have seen damask roses, red and white [streaked],But I do not see such colors in her cheeks; And some perfumes give more delight. Than the horrid breath of my mistress. I love to hear her speak, but I know. That music has a more pleasing sound. I've never seen a goddess walk; But I know that my mistress walks only on the ground. And yet I think my love as rare. As any woman who has been misrepresented by ridiculous comparisons. My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;Coral is far more red than her lips' red;If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head. I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,But no such roses see I in her cheeks; And in some perfumes is there more delight. Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks. I love to hear her speak, yet well I know. That music hath a far more pleasing sound;I grant I never saw a goddess go;My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground: And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare. As any she belied with false compare.

2.8 Performance the extract from "Romeo and Juliet" (Act 5). ROMEO It’s easy for someone to joke about scars if they’ve never been cut. JULIET enters on the balcony. But wait, what’s that light in the window over there? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. Rise up, beautiful sun, and kill the JEALOUS MOONDiana is the goddess of the moon and of virginity. Romeo implies that Juliet is a servant of the moon as long as she’s a virgin.jealous moon. The moon is already sick and pale with grief because you, Juliet, her maid, are more beautiful than she. Don’t be her maid, because she is jealous. Virginity makes her look sick and green. Only fools hold on to their virginity. Let it go. Oh, there’s my lady! Oh, it is my love. Oh, I wish she knew how much I love her. She’s talking, but she’s not saying anything. So what? Her eyes are saying something. I will answer them. I am too bold. She’s not talking to me. Two of the brightest stars in the whole sky had to go away on business, and they’re asking her eyes to twinkle in their places until they return. What if her eyes were in the sky and the stars were in her head?—The brightness of her cheeks would outshine the stars the way the sun outshines a lamp. If her eyes were in the night sky, they would shine so brightly through space that birds would start singing, thinking her light was the light of day. Look how she leans her hand on her cheek. Oh, I wish I was the glove on that hand so that I could touch that cheek.
