Leo loved Saturdays. It was the day he got to visit his grandpa, George. Grandpa George lives in a small house by the sea. Leo always looks forward to their time together. They do so many fun things!
Every Saturday, Leo wakes up early. He eats a quick breakfast of toast and jam. Then, his mom drives him to Grandpa George's house. When Leo arrives, Grandpa George is always waiting on the porch. He waves and smiles. Leo runs to give him a big hug.
Grandpa George has a lot of interesting hobbies. He collects seashells. He builds model ships. He also loves to fish. Leo enjoys helping Grandpa George with all these things. Sometimes, they walk along the beach and search for special shells. Other times, they sit at the table and carefully glue tiny pieces onto the model ships.
Fishing is Leo's favorite activity with Grandpa George. They pack a lunch and walk to the pier. Grandpa George shows Leo how to bait the hook. He explains how to cast the line. Leo waits patiently for a fish to bite. Sometimes he catches a fish! He feels so proud when he does. Grandpa George always praises him.
Before Leo leaves, Grandpa George always reads him a story. He has a big book of fairy tales. Leo loves to listen to Grandpa George's voice. It is warm and comforting. Leo knows that next Saturday, he will get to visit Grandpa George again. He always looks forward to it. He loves spending time with his grandpa.
