Розробка уроку для 9 класу за темою "Робота і професії"

Тема: Робота і професії.          (9 клас)            

  Підтема: Вибір професії.

Мета: активізувати в мові учнів ЛО теми „Вибір професії”. Підготувати до

            самостійного висловлювання про вибір професії та можливість

             отримання подальшої освіти після закінчення 9 класу.

Обладнання: підручник, „Join together the two halves of the proverbs”

                          (комплект речень), „Мatch each sentence”, “How to express

                           encouragement”.

                                                               Хід уроку

 

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1.Повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

     T: We are going to talk about choosing a profession and ways of getting further education for the ninth-form pupils.

      By the end of the lesson you should be able:

-to recognize, understand and operate the word and word-combinations for the topic “Choosing a profession” when training and speaking out;

-to participate in common conversational exchange on the topic of our today’s lesson.

 2. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

 Game ”Catchphrase”.

T: Let’s play a kind of a game. A quiz show “Catchphrase” is very popular on television in Britain. In the quiz show “Catchphrase” the contestants have to complete well-known expressions and proverbs. They get money for each one they complete. The winner can try then for the jackpot.

Well, let’s play “Catchphrase” game too.

Join together the two halves of the famouse  proverbs and sayings about work and peoples occupations. Work in pairs.

(Учням пропонується комплект прислів’їв, розрізаних на дві частини).

    Who will be the first to join halves together?

Business before / pleasure.

Jack of all trades / is master of none.

The hardest work is / to do nothing.

Through hardship / to stars.

He that would eat the fruit /  must climb the tree.

Doing is better / than saying.

T: Read the proverbs and say them aloud and try to find their Ukrainian equivalents.

 

II. Основна частина уроку.

1. Активізація тематичних ЛО.

1) Presentation. “People who help us”

T: Every day many people work for us.

Let us call them our helpers.

How do they help us?

A farmer helps us to have good things to eat. He grows all kinds of grain and vegetables for us.

A baker makes bread for us.

A postman brings us letters, newspapers and magazines.

A barber cuts our hair, he shaves grown-up men.

A shoemaker mends shoes for us.

A dressmaker makes our clothes.

A driver drives car, buses and trolley-buses.

An engine driver drives a train for us.

A miner digs coal for us.

A fitter fits up new machines.

A turner turns new metal parts.

A joiner makes furniture.

A builder builds houses for us.

A fireman comes when somebody’s house is on fire and puts out the fire. He carries grown-ups and children out of the houses and saves their lives.

A doctor cures us. He comes when we are ill and gives us medicine.

A teacher teaches us many interesting things.

An artist draws pictures for us.

A writer writes books for us.

A researcher makes experiments.

2) Math each sentence in the left-hand column with the best meaning in the right hand column.

3) Listening and practicing vocabulary.

T: Listen and say whose job do this things belong to.

1. bucket, ladder, duster: (window- cleaner)
2. board, chalk, tape recorder: (English teacher)
3. scalpel, mask, white uniform: (surgeon)
4. make-up, script, stage: (actress)
5. tractor, plough, barn: (tractor- driver)
6. sewing machine, scissors, needle: (dressmaker)

 

4) Lexical game. “What is he/she?”

 Try to use the following:

• I think …
• To my mind…

На столі лежать картки з назвами професій, написами вниз. До столу підходить учень, бере верхню картку і уявляє собі, що це його професія. Завдання інших учнів відгадати, що це за професія, ставлячи запитання типу:

Do you work on the earth or under the earth?

Do you work with many people?

Do you often travel in your job?

Do people need higher education to have your job?

Такі запитання як: Are you a worker? не можна ставити. Якщо після кількох запитань хтось з учнів готовий назвати цю професію, він говорить: I think

you are a… Хто відгадає професію, дістає очко і виходить до столу, щоб взяти наступну картку. Якщо ж після п’яти запитань учні не відгадують професію, очко зараховується ведучому. Він оголошує, яка це професія, і бере наступну картку. Виграє учень який набере найбільше очок.

 

2.Підготовка учнів до самостійного висловлювання про вибір професії та можливість отримання подальшої освіти після закінчення 9 класу.

1) Practising vocabulary.

T: Read the words, word-combinations and sentences with their Ukrainian equivalents.  Ex. 11a) p.81-82

2) Translating.

 Ex. 11b) p. 81-82

T: Cover the right side of the page and translate the words, word-combinations   

   and sentences into Ukrainian.

3) Pairwork.

  Ex.12 p. 82

T: Read the questions in English in pairs and answer them.

4) Conversation.

T: Where can you continue your education?

     Do you have a dilemma in choosing the ways to continue you education?

     What subjects have you always given your preference to?

    What school subjects do you need for your future profession or trade?

      Are you good at them?

    Are your abilities, your health, features of character important when choosing a

    profession or not?

    Success comes to those who are prepared to achieve it by hard work.

    Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Учитель  записує запитання заздалегідь на дошці, а учні використовують їх для складання свого усного повідомлення про плани на майбутнє.

 

5) Dialogue.

 T: Interview your partner about his plans for the future using the questions on the blackboard to help you.

Express encouragement while listening to your partner’s answers.

       

                  HOW TO EXPRESS ENCOURAGEMENT

Let’s hope for the best.

Don’t let it get you down.

   T: What have we done today?

        Which activities do you like most of all?

        Is it interesting for you to talk about your plans for the future? Why?
