WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE UNITED KINGDOM?

Мета: узагальнити та систематизувати знання учнів з теми, формувати соціокультурну компетенцію учнів, виховувати в учнів бажання вивчати англійську мову та їх допитливість.

Обладнання: карта Британії, запис гімну, запис  національних музичних інструментів, запис пісень у виконанні гуртів The Beatles., Elton John, Depeche Mode , Prodigy ,The Spice Girls   ; зображення визначних місць, британська символіка.

Introduction.

T:  Good afternoon , dear teachers and students. I am glad to see you. Welcome to our  theme party  “What do you know about the UK?”. Today we are going to summarize the information about the UK. You have already read many texts in your books, had a lot of additional information about this country, its cities, main holidays, nature sights and famous people. But before we start speaking about the UK  lets listen to the national  anthem of this country which is called “Gog save the Queen”

Now we’ll play a game “Brain Ring” or everything about the UK. For this purpose we need two teams. Each team consists of    5   players and a captain. Each team has its own desk with a lamp on it. The teams will be given tasks. If the player knows the answer, the captain should turn on the lamp. Only then the player can answer. For each correct answer you’ll get two points and for an incorrect answer you’ll get one point. The jury will keep the score and define the winner of our game . good luck and let’s start.
