Мета: навчальна: вивчити правила вживання минулого тривалого часу,  удосконалювати навички усного та  писемного мовлення, читання, аудіювання; вчити аналізувати отриману інформацію; систематизувати граматичний матеріал; розвивальна: розвивати слухову пам’ять, увагу, логічне мислення, уміння працювати в групі; розвивати уміння робити зіставлення, висловлювати свою думку,  збагатити  словниковий запас; виховна: виховувати розуміння Пкористуватися нею, як засобом спілкування, виховувати повагу до школи.

T: Good morning, dear boys and girls. I am glad to see you. As you see, we have an unusual lesson today. It is grammar lesson so we have much work.

T: The topic of our lesson. It is “School life”. At our lesson today we’ll revise some words, related to the topic “School”, we’ll also learn the new tense, which is called Past Continuous, we’ll listen and read texts and do many interesting exercises.  Now, please, write down the date into your copybooks.

 My name is Ivan. I go to school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I have got Maths, Art, Literature, Music and PE. We do sums at Maths lessons. My friend Taras and I don’t like doing sums and counting. My friend’s favourite lessons are PE and Music. At PE lessons we run, jump and play games. At Music lessons we sing songs and play music. Children like running, jumping, playing games and singing songs. I don’t like PE. I like playing games but I don’t like running and jumping. My favourite days are Monday and Friday. I have got English and Art lessons on these days. English is my favourite lesson. I like speaking and reading English. I like singing English songs. I like painting. My friend doesn’t like Art. He doesn’t like painting. On Saturday and Sunday children don’t go to school.

Введення граматичного матеріалу.

Past Continuous - це минулий тривалий час, який вказує на дію або процес, що тривав в певний період часу в минулому. При цьому, цей момент в минулому обов'язково повинен бути вказаний. Це може бути як конкретний час (at 5 o'clock), так і вказівку на момент часу (when) або в крайньому випадку - розуміється з контексту.
           Як і будь-який інший час, ми вивчаємо як утворюється час, та коли він використовується. Починаємо з утворення Past Continuous. Цей час утворюється з допоміжних дієслів was were + V + ing. Для утворення питання- допоміжне дієслово ставимо на початок, для заперечення – використовуємо заперечну частку not після допоміжного дієслова.
         When she called I was taking a shower - Коли вона подзвонила, я приймав душ (мова йде про якомусь моменті часу в минулому (when), хоча точний час не вказано)
