Compere 2: But what holidays do they celebrate in Britain? Girls, does anyone know?
Compere 3: I am sure that the first bright spring holiday in the UK is St Patrick’s Day. Actually I can tell a lot about this holiday. It’s an Irish holiday honouring Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland
Compere 4: Wait. Can you see that crowd of people wearing green. What’s going on?
Compere 2: Hello. Are you celebrating anything?
5th f: Hi. Saint Patrick’s Day.
Compere 2: Isn’t it on the 17th of March?
5th f: Saint Patrick’s Day is a huge festival which may be lasting a week. Compere 2: As far as I know, it’s an Irish holiday.
5th f: Nowadays St Patrick’s Day is a global celebration of Irish culture. It is celebrated in many parts of the world, especially by Irish communities and organizations.
Compere 2: And what do people do on this day?
5th f: For most people , this holiday is partly religious and partly festive. Church services are followed by parades and parties, Irish music, songs and dances.
5th f: And everyone tries to wear an item of green clothing on the day. It might be a dress or a sweater 5th f: a skirt or a tie
5th f: pants, a ribbon or a scarf
5thf: a hat or socks
5th f: Green is the colour of Ireland and St Patrick’s day. Green stands for nature and for spring planting. Green also stands for hope.
5th f: And people wear shamrocks on their jackets and look for leprechauns and
rainbows and pots of gold. Everyone has fun 5th f: You’d better listen to our song

I WANT MY MOTHER BACK
CHARACTERS: JENIFFER ,MOTHER, VOICE, MOTHER 1, MOTHER 2, MOTHER 3 SCRIPT:
JENIFFER: But I´m fifteen years old!. I want to hang out with my friends. How come I can´t come after midnight?. All my friends do!.
MOTHER: You are not as old as you think, and if your friends go home late, you are not young lady!. You are my daughter and while you live in this house you will do as I say.
JENIFFER: It´s not fair. You just want me to do what you want; I am a good daughter.
MOTHER: Let´s see good daughter. How come you don´t have good grades in mathematics?. How come you don´t wash the dishes when I tell you do do it?. How come you don´t go to bed early?. You should do what I tell you to do, not when you want to do it.
(Jeniffer gets angry and starts to read a magazine) JENIFFER: OK, whatever you say. I am not perfect.
MOTHER: You know what?. I have to go, it´s getting late for work. Clean the bathroom and the living room, and wash your clothes. Oh, and don´t open the door to strangers.
JENIFFER: (furious) blah, blah, blah. I am not going to do anything. I wish I had another mother!. (Jeniffer hears a voice)
VOICE: Your wish is granted!.
(Jeniffer jumps up to the sofa and covers her head with the magazine) JENIFFER: Who are you?.
VOICE: I am your fairy godmother, sweety!.
JENIFFER: That´s not true. It´s only my imagination.
VOICE: Little girl, this is a great opportunity.
You asked for a wish and you woke me up, so tell me what kind of mother do you want?.
JENIFFER: Please, don’t call me little girl.
VOICE: Okay young lady, tell me what you want, I don´t have your time.
JENIFFER: Let me think. I want someone that treats me well, that lets me do what I want to do, and someone that buys me everything I want, and everything I like.
VOICE: Your wish is granted!.
(Mother 1 enters very nicely dress and she sits in the sofa to read a magazine) JENIFFER: Wow!. Listen mom.
MOTHER 1: Little girl, don´t call me mom. I spend a lot of money in plastic surgeries just to look younger, and you call me mom!.
JENIFFER: I´m sorry. I just want to tell you that I want to go out with my friends, and I want to come home late, and I need some money to buy things that me look just as beautiful as you.
MOTHER 1: (she gives Jeniffer her credit card) Take it, and do whatever you want to do.
JENIFFER: Do you remember that the other day I told you about a girl that was…
MOTHER 1: I gave you what you want. I don´t have time to listen to your stories. I am going to the beauty shop. Bye!.
JENIFFER: What is wrong with my mother?. Do I know her?. Oh no, this is not fair fairy godmother!.
VOICE: Why are you yelling?. Tell me how things went with your new mother.
JENIFFER: You exaggerated. I wanted to talk to her, but she wouldn´t let me.
VOICE: What do you want then?.
JENIFFER: I want her to be nice to me. I want her to love me and to listen to me.
VOICE: Are you sure that´s what you want?. JENIFFER: I am sure! Come on, do it!.
MOTHER 2: My dear daughter, my flesh and blood, I missed you so much!. How are you sweetheart, tell me everything you want to tell me, I am all ears. Tell me what has happened in your life.
JENIFFER: Oh mother, relax, everything is fine. I just wanted you to be different, but not too different!.
MOTHER 2: Sweetheart, tell me what you want to eat. What do you want to tell me?. Tell me everything.
JENIFFER: Oh mother, stop it, I can´t breath!.
MOTHER 2: Do you need some air, sweety?. I´ll turn on the air conditioner.
JENIFFER: No mother, I don´t need some air. It´s just that …
MOTHER 2: Are you tired?. Sit down, I´ll take off your shoes. Do you want a massage, sweetheart?. JENIFFER: No mother, you don´t understand. Do you know what?. Go to the store and buy me something to eat, I am hungry.
MOTHER 2: Sure sweetheart, what do you want to eat?.
JENIFFER: Buy whatever you want. Bye mother!.
JENIFFER: What is wrong with you fairy godmother?. Why do you give me what I don´t want to have?.
VOICE: Sweety, you told me that you want someone who cares for you, who loves you, and who listens to you. JENIFFER: Yes I know, but not that much. Maybe, someone strict, but at the same time someone who cares for me and loves me.
VOICE: Very well. I am giving you what you asked for.
MOTHER 3: (angry) Stand straight!. (Jeniffer stands up straight as a soldier) Do you want to eat something?. JENIFFER: (frightened) Yes.
MOTHER 3: You have to say YES, MAM!.
JENIFFER: YES MAM!.
MOTHER 3: From now on, food will be served at 12 pm sharp. You are not allowed to go out after 10 pm. You will watch television from 5 to 6 p.m., and you will go to bed at 8 o´clock. Understood?. JENIFFER: YES MAM!. But, can I go to bed a little bit later, and can I go out with my friends?.
MOTHER 3: You must follow the rules. There will be no changes. And now you must clean the house, I have to go shopping. And when I come back I expect everything to be really neat, if not you will be punished. Understood?.
JENIFFER: YES, MAM!.
MOTHER 3: Oh, and I do all this because I love you.
(Mother 3 leaves)
JENIFFER: I can’t believe it!. What is wrong with you fairy godmother?.
VOICE: What is your problem?. I give you what you want, and you get angry at me!. JENIFFER: Yes, because it´s not fair. I trusted you and you are having fun of me.
VOICE: Listen Jeniffer, I just wanted you to see what you have at home. You don´t have to be looking somewhere else what you already have. Now tell me, does your mother care for you?.
JENIFFER: Yes, she cooks my favorite food.
VOICE: Does she listen to you when you have something to tell her?.
JENIFFER: Yes, she´s always there for me. VOICE: Does she punish you?.
JENIFFER: Yes, but I don´t like to be punished.
VOICE: Look, when we are young we don´t see that our mother is taking care of us, and that is a way of showing love. When you grow up, then you can take your own decisions.
JENIFFER: Well, yes, but I get mad because I want to go out and she won’t let me.
VOICE: Being a mother is a full time job. Even if she is not here right now, she prays for you all the time, and she tries hard so you can be comfortable. Each one of us has the best mother in the world.
JENIFFER: Yes, I understand, It´s just that sometimes is hard to be a good daughter. I want my mother back!. VOICE: And for her, it´s also hard to be a good mother.
JENIFFER: Hello… mother!. I am happy to hear your voice… yes don´t worry about me, I am fine… are you coming home? Yes mother, I will clean the house… What do I want to eat? Yes, pizza it´s fine… Mom, I want to tell you something… Thank you for being my mother… you are the best mother in the world… and forgive me for being the way I am with you… I will try to be a better daughter… You are the best, don´t worry… I love you mom… ok, I´ll wait here for you. (she hangs up the phone) Thanks you fairy godmother, you showed me a lesson.

Compere 3: St Patrick’s Day, Mothering Sunday… I can’t imagine spring without these holidays. But we still haven’t mentioned one of the most important religious holidays.
Compere 4: I know. You mean Easter.
Compere 5: Sure. That’s Easter.
It’s a favourite holiday of all children . Do you know why?
Let’s ask them.
Easter is a very special day.
It’s a day for bunnies, eggs and chocolates.
1st formers -song + what is Easter?
Compere 1: But we don’t celebrate it just to lok for eggs and eat candies. Let us tell you a true story about Easter. It’s an amazing story about God who loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus to us so that we could make friends with God.
That’s our story of Easter. When Jesus came to Earth, he looked after people and did some incredible miracles- he could fed thousands of people, he walked on water and healed sick people. But some people didn’t like that. One day Jesus went to Jerusalem and got his friends together for a special supper. Jesus even washed his friends feet and told them something very important that we should love each other the same way he loves us. Jesus said: Eat this bread and wine and remember me. Later on Jesus went to a garden to pray. His friends went too but they fell asleep. Jesus prayed and talked with God, his father in heaven. They had a plan together to save all the people in the world. Then suddenly soldiers came to arrest Jesus and they took him away.. The soldiers hurt Jesus and made fun of him and they gave him a spiky wreath to his head and they made him carry a big heavy cross. Then they pinned him up on his hands and feet and Jesus died. And a lot of people cried. The sun got really dark, the sun couldn’t shine. Then the soldiers put the body into the tomb and there was a huge stone in front of the door, so that no one could get in.Three days later God sent his angel from heaven. When the soldiers saw the angels they got scared and ran away. And the angel rolled the stone away. Then some Jesus’s friends came to the tomb to wash his body but the tomb was empty and they saw the shining angel who told them ; Don’t be afraid. Jesus is not here.He is not dead anymore. He is alive again. He is risen. The friends rushed home to tell everybody but Mary stayed a bit longer and Jesus came to talk to her. a few days later the friends were having dinner together and Jesus appeared to them, they were a bit scared at first but then they got very excited. Now we know Jesus is alive, he resurrected after his death. He is in our hearts.
This story is a good example that shows that our God is big and strong.
