Listening (I semester):
Year 6
School Сamping Trip
Last Month, twenty students from Year 8 were on the school camping trip to the Black Forest.
Tom Smith tells us all about it.
Where did you stay?
We stayed in small tents near the small river next to the village Orlivka. It was fun!
Did you have lessons?
No, we didn’t, but we finished and swam every day. Also we learnt how to make a bridge over the river, too. We used rope and wood. Our teacher learnt us to cook forest food: mushrooms, berries and snails. We cooked food in frying pans on a fire. Sometimes we cooked the fish from the river! Girls cooked fish soup and it was really tasty! But fried sausages are tastier for me, because I like meat.
Was it cold at night?
No, it wasn’t. We had warm sleeping bags for girls and cosy blankets for boys. It was very dark at night, but we had torches: our teacher bought them for us. One night, there was a strange noise outside. We were scared, but when my elder brother looked outside, there was only a dog. It ate our sausages.
Do you like such trips?
Yes, of course! Our teacher always organizes such cool trips for us, we like her and she likes us.
