Horodyshche State Agrarian College

         We are students of the Horodyshche State Agrarian College. Our college is the oldest educational establishment in Horodyshche district, Cherkasy Region. It was founded on the 19-th century by brothers Symerenko. Our college has its own history and traditions.

         At present, more than 450 students study at this college. 135 students study by correspondence. Our college trains specialists of 5 specialties «Fotestry», «Agriculture», «Gardening», «Accounting» and «Finance».

         The teaching staff of the college is now 37, among them there are professors and lectures. Our college occupies two buildings. Not far from the college there are two large stadiums. There are 2 hostels near our college. Our studies begin at half past eight; usually we have 3 or 4 double periods a day. We also have a good student’s canteen and during our lunch-period we take our meals there. There is a gym hall on the second floor of the college. On the second floor we also have a large assembly-hall which sits about 200 people. There is a library at the central building of the college. It contains a lot of textbooks and fiction. It is open from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. in term-time. There is a large reading-hall in our college and we often have an opportunity to do our homework there. Our classrooms and laboratories are large and light. These labs have modern equipment. Every day we attend lectures and have practice.

          Some students of our college get scholarship. The course of our studies lasts 2, 3 or 4 years: 4 after the 9^th form and 2 or 3 after the 11^th form.

          The academic session began on the first of September and will end in June. Each year of study consists of 2 terms. At the end of each term we take our exams and have vocations. During summer vocations most of us combine rest with work.
