 Are happy because of you.

T: Read  all together  it. Good luck for you at the lesson.

The Aims and the Theme        (Slide 2)

T: On the screen you сan see different pictures. But they are connected. They form a Mind – Map. So, what things can you see?

Ps:  a map of Ukraine; The Trident(The National Coat of Arms)

The National Flag; bread and a towel; embroidery; sunflowers; a field with

wheat; a willow, a snowball-tree; chaplet with ribbons (not only a decoration, but it’s also a guard), a towel.

The Ukrainians say: “The house without a towel is like a family without children.” (T: The main colours are red and black. They means Love and Sorrow. Poppy is a symbol of people’s memory. Lily is a symbol of life.).

T: So, they are The Symbols of Ukraine. What other Ukrainian symbols do you know?

Ps: birch; national clothes (sharovary); national dishes; songs; pasky; pysanky; traditions and customs.; holidays (Christmas, Old New Year; Easter; Pure Week; Willow Sunday).

Warm – up:

T: Let’s remember our rhyme.(T @ Ps)

The ink is black, the page is white,

Together we learn to read and write (2)

And now a child can understand

 Ukraine is our Motherland.

The board is black, the chalk is white,

The words stand out so clear and bright (2)

And now at last we clearly see

 Ukrainian people are family.

T:  -  What is Ukraine?

  • What kind of people are Ukrainians?

Ps:  (They are hard-working, brave, honest, generous, true friends, polite, hospitable, love our Motherland …)

Sorry for a long silence after my last letter. I celebrated the Christmas Holiday season. I had an interesting trip to Wales. I saw a lot of sights and met new people. I visited my relatives in Cardif and had a good time with my cousins.

In April I am going to visit Ukraine to see some places of interest. I would like to visit some Ukrainian cities and towns to know more about history, traditions and customs. Could you give  me some advice as for places to visit in Ukraine? What countries would you like to visit and why?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Best wishes,

Kate.
