Aims:

  •      to develop communicative skills
  •      to develop reading and speaking skills
  •      to promote creative thinking
  •      to repeat words ( topic “School”)
  •      to check pupils’ knowledge on the topic “School”
  •      to develop the interest in studying English
  •      to develop pupils’ member
  •      to reinforce the vocabulary on the topic “School”
  •      to identify and discuss what school subjects are

Procedure


 


1.Introduction

1.1. Greeting. Start with the poem “Good morning” and ask pupils:

How are you? Are you fine?

Encourage pupils to tell and explain their mood.   Propose pupils the smile-cards that attitude their mood. See Worksheet 8.     

1.2. Go on speaking about the topic of the lesson, about school. Pay pupils’ attention to the topic and the aim of the lesson:

-to repeat the words;

-role-playing dialogues;

-games and drawing

1.3. Propose to play «Whats this» game(using topic “School” and pictures) (Worksheet 1). Hand out the cards and ask students questions.

For example: Start with showing the desk’s picture and ask:

Т:Is this an apple? Ps:No, it isn’t.

 T:Is this a doll? Ps No, it isn’t.

 T:Is this a desk? Ps:Yes, it is...

And so on…

2. The main part of the lesson

2.1. Introduce your guest (rabbit Bunny – see Worksheet 2). Greet him, then ask the pupils do the same. Use the lay-out: - Hello, Bunny. - How are you?  - Nice to see you. Tell pupils that Bunny asked for help with his lessons. He wants to pleased his mother with his good marks. Ask pupils if you would help Bunny. Help pupils to make positive answer.

2.2. So, start your game with pupils. Hand out the Worksheet 3 and tell pupils that the first lesson in the time-table is Maths. Ask pupils questions using lay-out: - Can you count?. – Let’s do it. Inform them that they are going to watch the video “Numbers”.

2.3. After playing the video give out the Worksheet 4. Propose them to count subjects on the cards. Don’t forget to pleased pupils for this exercise.

2.4. Physical Activity (using video-song)

Get pupils to know that their next lesson is PE. See Worksheet 3. Talk with pupils about this lesson. What do they do on this lesson? Propose students to count according to the lay-out –

 Stand up! Clap! Clap! Arms up! Clap! Clap!

Step! Step! Arms down! Clap! Clap! Please, sit down!

2.5. Remember that your next lesson is Drawing. Hand out Worksheet 3. And pupils have to colour the picture. Give them Worksheet 5. But before painting they are going to watch video “Colours”. Ask them to sing with you.

2.6.With Bunny’s help tell that the 4th lesson is Reading (see Worksheet 3). Pre-reading task. Bunny sings the ABC-song (video “ABC”). Pupils have to sing with him.

While reading task (Worksheet 6). First acquaint pupils with the words – read them correctly. Second reading: you - read and pupils – repeat. Next, each person has to read the words on the cards one by one. At the end, you choose the best reader.

2.7.Writing Practice. Pay pupils attention that the last lesson in Bunny’s time-table is English Language. See Worksheet 3. Give out the Worksheet 7. Explain how they have to do the tasks (individual work). Check mistakes. Don’t forget to note everyone.

3. Conclusion

3.1. Make the conclusion of the lesson; note each pupil. Use the follow-up activity. Have the talk with pupils. Get to know about their thoughts and fillings of the lesson. Self-rating.
