                   Виховувати відчуття гордості за країну і місце, де ми

                   живемо.

Some people live in the country

Where the houses are very small.

Some people live in the city,

Where the houses are very tall.

But in the country where the houses are small,

The gardens are very big,

And in the city where the houses are tall,

There are no gardens at all.

Where would you rather live?

      Read the poem.

II The main part of the lesson

1. Aim

Today we are going to speak about your favourite place (city, town or village)

2. Reading 
   1. Pre-reading task
      • Look at the pictures. What can you see?
      • Look at the title and guess what the text is about.
      • Look at the blackboard and read some new words.

2. While-reading task
   • Read the four questions before you read the text. Predict the order of the text.
   • Read the text and match the questions to the paragraphs. Let’s compare answers to the predictions
3. Post – reading task

Introduce the subject of the text.

Describe the countryside around the town.

Describe what you can do in the town.

3. Listening
   • Read the four questions before you hear the four children talking about their favourite places.
   • Listen to the cassette and note down your answers.

   

• Listen to the cassette again and check yourself.

4. Speaking

a) Talk to a classmate about your favourite holiday. You can use such questions and answers. Use the Past Simple Tense.
