Етап. Мета. Прийом.

Зміст

Етап 1. Організація класу.

Мета: оголошення цілей уроку.

Прийом: вступне слово вчителя.

Greeting.

T: Now I’ll give you some information about our plan for today, our tasks. So, during this lesson we are going to do the next: Warm up, Vocabulary practice, Listening practice, after that there will be Reading practice, and then Reading and Writing practice. At the end of the lesson you’ll get your Home task and then it will be the Summing up stage.

Етап 2. Мовленнєва розминка.  Повідомлення теми.

Мета: введення в атмосферу іншомовного мовлення

Прийом: «мозковий штурм»

T: Now you may see the pictures. What can you tell about it?  Give your opinions, please.

Ss: All the people are doing something. All the activities are not hobbies. At the picture we can see people of different professions.

T: Well, that’s right: The topic of our today’s lesson is “Jobs. Professions. Occupations.” Now, please, give me your opinions about the quotation of Steve Jobs.

Ss: - Job is just a job, but the person doing the job can influence how things are done.

- We have to make the right choice now.

- I make sure that everyone can find the best job.

- As Ray Bradbury said, if you don't love what you do, you'd better find something else to love. Otherwise, you don't have a reason for living.  

T.: I totally agree with you. And now let’s speak about your knowledge. Some people compare knowledge with the sea and with the pearls. So, here, at the board you can see the sea, and I’m giving you “the pearls”. Please, put your pearls on the picture according to your abilities to speak about jobs and professions. Look at the slide and put your pearls according to it.

Етап 3. Лексична практика

Мета: розвиток критичного мислення та навичок усного мовлення

Прийом: самостійна робота

T: Now, let’s unscramble the jobs you have on your worksheets. You have 4 minutes.

Ss do the task.

After 4 minutes Ss change their worksheets and check each other. Then they give the definitions of the professions.

Етап 4. Лексична практика. Гра

Мета: Активізація мовленнєвих навичок

Прийом: усне діалогічне мовлення

T: OK. Now, we’ll play the game “What’s my job?” One by one you’ll come here and take the paper with the name of the job. Other students will ask you questions in order to guess your job. So, let’s start.

Етап 5. Лексична практика (i-e CD ex 3,7)

Мета: Активізація мовленнєвих навичок  

Прийом: виконання вправ на комп’ютері по черзі

T: Well, now your task is to fill in the words. Then we’ll check and try to guess the profession.

Ss do the tasks.

Етап 6. Аудіювання   (i-e CD ex 8 a,b p41)

Мета: розвиток навичок аудіювання

Прийом: самостійне виконання з подальшою перевіркою разом

T: Now it’s time to listen.

Ss do the task, then they introduce their answers, T. and Ss check the answers.T explains the answers.

Етап 7. Читання тексту мовчки

Мета: розвиток мовленнєвих умінь

Прийом: читання мовчки, заповнення пропусків, перевірка

T: Well done! Our next step is to learn how to compare and contrast different jobs. Now look at the screen and tell me, please, what are these people?

Ss: They are waiters and florists.

T asks what do they do at work and pays attention to words “waiter – waitress”, and explains that both men and women can do these jobs.

T. makes sure that Ss understand linking words.

T. explains the word “a counter”, then Ss read the text silently and fill the gaps.

T. checks: Ss read the text aloud one by one.

Етап 8. Читання та письмо

Мета: оволодіння учнями стратегії письмового порівняння та контрастування професій

Прийом: читання та письмо з опорою, перевірка

T: Now, look at the screen. What are the people?

S: A delivery man and a hairdresser.

T: What do they do at work?

Ss: A delivery man delivers goods, letters, and parcels to other people. A hairdresser cuts and styles people’s hair.

T: Let’s talk about the advantages and disadvantages of both jobs.

T pays attention to the word “repetitive”

So, think carefully and compare these two jobs using the prompts. 

Ss are writing.They are working in pairs.

T. checks: Ss read their monologues.

T: Well done. You were great. Now it’s time for your home task: compare and contrast two different jobs

Етап 10. Підбиття підсумків

T: Now, let’s summarize our today’s lesson. “What have you learned today?”

Ss: We have learned to speak about jobs, to compare and contrast different jobs

T: So, I’ll give you the second set of pearls. Put them into the sea according to your abilities now.
