Lesson in the 4-th  form

Тема: Clothes. Seasons. Good Rules.

Мета: закріплювати вміння описувати зовнішній вигляд людини, систематизувати знання з теми «Зима», повторити всі типи питальних речень в Present Simple Tense, будову стверджувальних речень в Present, Past, Future Simple Tenses, розвивати всі види мовленнєвої діяльності, збагачувати словниковий запас учнів, виховувати культуру поведінки в в гостях.

Procedure

І. Introduction

- Good morning!

-How are you?

Pupils gives different answers ( Fine! Great! Perfect! Not too bad! Nothing new! Etc.)

II  Phonetic drills

Today I am a Fairy and I invite you to a magic country. We have to say these  magic words:

 

Miss, miss, little miss;

When she misses, she misses like this.

Close your eyes and count: 1,2,3.

  • Open your eyes! You are princes and princesses now. Put you crowns on. At first, let’s read magic sounds:

[ i], [a], [j], [u:], [∫], [æ], [e], [ə], [ð], [θ].

Oh! Look! This is a postman. What does he say?

[ə’ten∫n]!

The King and the Queen [in’vait] [ju:] [tu:] [ð ə] ball.

[ð ə] ball will be on ☼day at clock.pngin the [ka:sl].

  • Complete this announcement.

ІІI Warming- up

  • Today we’ll prepare to the ball. What will you have on?

( Pps describe closes which they would like to put on  to the ball)

  • On the ball you will have a talk with other princes and princesses. What will you talk about? It could be about weather and seasons.
  • What season is it now?
  • What are winter months?
  • What is the weather like in winter?
  • What do you like to do in winter?
  • Do you like winter?
  • Who can tell about winter?

IV. Grammar skills.

Princes and princesses  must be clever. Let’s practice to complete  questions.

1)Complete all types of questions to the sentence.

The little Princess plays with her ball in the garden.

2) Put the verbs in brackets in correct tens

a) Fairies (to like) to read magic books.

b) Cinderella  (to clean) the house every day.

c) Frog Prince ( to wait) in the pond for the little Princess yesterday.

d) Goldilocks (to go) to the three bears last Monday.

e) Red Riding Hood (to visit) her grandmother tomorrow.

V.  Rest Pause.

I’ve got a red dress

And a blue hat.

I’ve got grey socks

And  pink shoes.

Stamp your feet with me!

VI. Reading  skills.

We have to be polite. Read the text “Good rules to remember”.

Words to the  text:

Remember

Find these words into the text and read the sentences.

Good Rules to Remember

  1. Always wash your hands before eating.
  2. Don’t talk with your mouth full.
  3. If you eat meat, eat it with a fork and a knife.
  4. Have a fork in your left hand and a knife in your right hand.
  5. Never put a knife into your mouth.
  6. Never eat with a spoon those things that you must eat with a fork.
  7. When you have tea or coffee, don’t put your spoon into the cup or glass. Put the spoon only on saucer.
  8. Don’t stand up when other people are still eating.
  9. Always remember to say “Please” when you ask somebody to pass you something.
  10. Always remember to say “Thank you” when somebody passes you something.

Teacher reads the text.

  • What must you do before eating?
  • What hand should you have a fork and a knife?
  • May you put your spoon into the cup or glass when you have tea or coffee?
  • What should you say when you ask somebody to pass you something?

Pupils read the text with  hiding ends of the lines.

Pupils read the text as a twister.

Pupils read the text as a newscaster.

VII. Summing –Up.

I hope  you’ll be polite in the ball.
