T: Dear pupils today we have unusual lesson: We’ll play the game “I love Ukraine” We have learnt a lot of interesting facts about our country and we’ll speak about Ukraine at this lesson. Are you ready?

Pl: Yes, we are!

T: We have two teams “Desna” and “Znobovka”. Do you like to play games?

Pl: Yes, we are!

Game 1. “What do know about Ukraine?”

You have to answer the question. Listen to me!

1. Where is Ukraine situated?

2. What countries does it border on? Show them on the map.

3. What is the capital of Ukraine? Can you show it on the map?

4. What is the official language of our country?

5. What is the main river of our country? Can you show it on the map?

6. What nationalities live in Ukraine?

7. What large cities of Ukraine do you know? Can you show them on the map?

8. What seas are there in Ukraine? Can you show them on the map?

9. What animals live in the woods of our country?

10. What trees are there in our forests?

11. Where are there mountains in Ukraine?

12. What are the highest peaks in Ukraine?

13. Is lake Yalpuk the biggest or the deepest lake in Ukraine ?

14. Is lake Svityaz the deepest in Ukraine?

 T: You are very clever, pupils!

Game 2.  Every country has its national symbols. And our next game is about National Symbols of Ukraine. Look at the blackboard. Here you can see National Symbols of Ukraine. You have to match two  parts of the sentences and write them down.

Game 3  is about Kyiv. You know the capital of Ukraine is Kyiv. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. More than  3 million people live there. A chestnut is a symbol of Kyiv. There are many museums, art galleries, theatres and cinemas in it. They are very popular with the tourists. It is an ancient city. It is more than 1500 years old.  And now let’s   speak about ancient monuments of Kyiv. Choose your tasks. Think some minutes and describe these pictures.  Our blackboard helps you.

Game 4  is about the Nature of Ukraine. You  know Ukraine is famous for its  beautiful and picturesque  landscapes.  The plant and animal world of our country is very rich. There are a lot of different animals, birds and plants in our forests, steppes and mountains.

 Look at the blackboard and guess the puzzles    about animals and birds that live in Ukraine.

Game 5. Crossword. You can find 8 names of animals and birds.

Game 6. Discribe our  Motherland.

You have to think and writ down some sentences about Ukraine and than read them.

Game 7. Fill in the gaps with the missing letters.

Game 8. Further and further.

Name the adjectives concerning to Ukraine, its nature, its people. Speak in a chain.
