T: The topic of the lesson today is “Having meals at a café or in a restaurant”. By the end of the lesson you should be able to order meals if you are eating out. It’ll help you to acquire a command of the spoken language. Besides, you’ll extend active and passive knowledge of vocabulary and talk about Ukrainian traditional meals.

Pronunciation drill.

First, let’s practice reciting the chant you learned at the previous lesson.

Then, to achieve automacy in pronunciation and increase ability to speak fluent English I suggest you should learn another chant.

4. Choose three of the things you think they are the most important in an ideal restaurant. Write a few sentences about an ideal restaurant using some of the words from the box. Pleasant atmosphere, good wine, music, excellent food, good service, nice décor.

5. Read and act. Make up your own dialogues using the menu.

Mike: Let’s go into this pizza restaurant. I’d like some takeaway pizzas. Hello. Could you show us the menu, please?

Bill: Here it is.

Mike: Two cheese and tomato pizzas to take away, please.

Assistant: Certainly. They’ll be ready in five minutes. Would you like to take a seat?

Bill: I’m thirsty. Shall we have a drink?

Mike: One large coke and a pure orange juice, please.

Assistant: Here you are. That’ll be $3.60, please. Thank you very much. Goodbye.

Mike: Bye.
