How to Keep Fit. Healthy and Unhealthy Habits

Learning outcomes: by the end of the lesson student are supposed to be able to create a personal programme of healthy lifestyle on the basis of own experience and analyses of different sources of information.
Teacher : “ Good morning. I am glad to see you. How are you feeling today? (If someone says something negative, I am really sorry to hear it). And today we are going to speak about the things which may help you to keep fit and be always in mood”

1. Define the theme of the lesson taking into account the problem question
1.1. Name 10 things which our health depends on
1.2. Match the parts of the proverbs
1.3. Match the proverbs with their meaning
2. Choose 3-5 healthy and unhealthy habits from the video and relate them with the proper section of the table
3. Illustrate exercises 1.2 and 2 with the examples from your own experience ( 2-3 sentences)
4.Compare healthy and unhealthy habits from the video with those from the text 4.1. Continue filling in the table. 4.2. Fill in the gaps in the text.
4.3. Distinguish which sentences (parts of them) in the text are pieces of advice ( why not, it’s worth…). Give own examples of advice beginning. 4.4. Pair work. Share with your partner 2-3 pieces of advice about healthy lifestyle.
5. Rate the habits in the table from the most important to the least important ( from your point of view). 6. On the basis of your tables and own experience create your Programs of Healthy Lifestyle ( up to 10 – 12 points on A-4 sheets). 6.1 Presentation of the Programs (the other groups are to choose the best program and they are encouraged to ask questions and express their opinions). 7. Summing up. Name three things which will definitely help people keep fit. 8. Home assignment: Write a Letter to your friend who spends too much time at the computer (cover the following points: - tell him/ her about the hazards of such a hobby - share your own experience - give him/ her some pieces of advice (3 -4) on healthier lifestyle.
