I Greeting. Привітання, повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

Good afternoon. children! How are you today? Today we continue speaking about music, different music styles and instruments. Also we will speak on the Past Simple Passive and do exercise to practice using this tense.

II Warming up

Let’s look at the board. You see a word “music”. Write as many words which can be associated with this word

III Listening 

Listen to the six pieces of music and identify each type.

Ex.1 p.149

Music A – a violin solo

Music B – an Irish folk song

Music C – rock ‘n’ roll

Music D - rap

Music E- a Scottish dance

Music F - jazz

My favorite type of music

There are different types of music in the world. My favorite type if pop music. I love this type of music because it enables to enjoy passing time whenever I feel bored. It started in the USA in mid-1950s, then it reached the whole world. Some of the most successful musicians are pop singers Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and the list goes on. Pop music often includes danceable tempo, easy to remember lyrics, and the music videos are often flashy.

Sometimes when I’m doing homework on my computer, I play music on YouTube in the background. I also watch music videos between studying sessions when I take breaks. My favorite Pop song is James Arthur’s “Impossible”. It is a beautiful song about hope and it makes me think about working harder. In fact, all my friends love this song and we listen to it together. We also love listening to The Weekend’s song, as he’s talented musician.

Live music is incredibly entertaining. Whenever a pop artist is performing in a show near our city I beg my parents to take me. Music concerts are full of fun, you see people singing along, the public dancing, and at the end of the show to can rush to the singer and ask for an autograph. Furthermore, I don’t recommend going to concerts without parental accompaniment, because there are some bad people that go there also.

Listening to pop music is my favorite go to leisure activity. It has a rich history and I enjoy discovering new artist. Also, nothing can beat going to concerts and enjoying that festive atmosphere. I hope in the future when this pandemic is over, we will be able to enjoy recreation together.
