Тема: «Робота. Професії»

Мета:

 -  навчити учнів використовувати лексичні одиниці в усному та 

    писемному мовленні;

 - навчити учнів порівнювати та контрастувати професії;

 -  практикувати учнів у висловленні думок , діалогічній  (усній)  та     монологічній  (усній та письмовій) діяльності,  читанні

  - розвивати критичне та логічне мислення учнів;

  - розвивати пам’ять, увагу;

   - розвивати готовність до подальшої самоосвіти в галузі 

   володіння іноземно мовою;   

 -  виховувати в учнів ціннісні орієнтації;

I.Вступна частина

  1) Привітання

I can see you all are fine, aren’t you?  So, let’s start. During this lesson we are going to do Vocabulary practice, Reading and Writing and Speaking  practice.

Now you may see the pictures. What can you tell about it?  Give your opinions, please.

Well, that’s right: The topic of our today’s lesson is “Jobs. Professions. Occupations.” Now, please, give me your opinions about the quotation of  Ray Bradbury  - If you don't love what you do, you'd better find something else to love. Otherwise, you don't have a reason for living.

I totally agree with you. And now let’s speak about your knowledge. So, here, at the paper  you can see the sentences .Please, put marks next to them  according to your abilities to speak about jobs and professions.

I can speak about professions:     

-I know the names of  jobs, professions and ocupations

-I may describe what people  do at their work

-I can talk about pros and cons of different jobs

-I can compare and contrast different professions

Now change your  worksheets and check each other. Then  give the definitions of the professions.

  - OK. Now, we’ll play the game “What’s my job?” One by one you’ll come   here and take the paper with the name of the job. Other students will ask you questions in order to guess your job. So, let’s start.

Our next step is to learn how to compare and contrast different jobs. Now look at the board  and tell me, please, what are these people? - They are waiters and florists.- What do they do at work?

Look at the pictures. Now we’ll read the text about this jobs. Use the words from the table to complete the gaps comparing the two jobs.

I think that if  I had  to choose between working as a waitress or working as a florist, I would pick being a florist. In  1)……………. jobs you get to spend your days meeting people and talking . I think that working in a flower shop is better because you get to be more creative , 2) …. ….…….. if you are a waitress you just do the same things every day. 3)………………, waitresses sometimes have to work early morning and late night shifts , 4) ……………… in a florist’s shop you work normal shopping hours . 5)………………, working as a waitress you’re more active  6)………………standing behind a counter . Now, look at the board.  What are the people?  - A delivery man and a hairdresser. -  What do they do at work? - A delivery man delivers goods, letters, and parcels to other people. A hairdresser cuts and styles people’s hair.

Let’s talk about the advantages and disadvantages of  both  jobs.

So, think carefully and compare these two jobs using the prompts. 

Students are writing. They are working in pairs and then  read their monologues.
