Objectives:

to practice and use new words and word combinations;

to practice singing a song;

to practice structures “Can I have a…? Here you are.”

to explain using the indefinite article;

to develop Ps’ listening, writing and speaking skills.

Vocabulary: apple, banana, pear, strawberry, cherry, orange, picnic.

Structures: “Can I have a…? Here you are.”

Materials: PB, flashcards.

Outcomes: by the end of the lessons pupils will be able to use new words and word combinations, use structures “Can I have a…? Here you are.” and the indefinite article, sing a song.

1. Warming up

Sing a song (Ex. 5, p. 87)

2. Presentation

Ex. 1, p. 88 – listen, point and repeat.

Explain to pupils that they are going to listen to the audio, point and repeat.

Then show one flashcard with some words very quickly and then ask “What did you see?”. Pupil, who first raised the hand, should answer.

3. Practice

Ex. 2, p. 88 – point and say.

Say pupils that they are going to point and say.

Ex. 3, p. 88 – listen and sing a song.

In the garden, in the garden

We have a picnic in the garden.

I have apples, apples, apples.

I have pears, pears, pears.

You have cherries, cherries, cherries

And strawberries.

In the garden, in the garden

We have a picnic in the garden.

Exercise

Say pupils that they are going to watch the video and do the exercise.

Explain pupils we use the indefinite article an before vowels and a before consonants.

Ex. 4, p. 88 – ask and answer in pairs.

Pupils are going to practice structures “Can I have a…? Here you are.” using new words.

4. Ending

Ex. 5, p. 87 –  copy and write ‘a’ and ‘an’.

Explain to pupils that they should copy and write.

2 I’ve got a pear.

3 It’s an orange.

4 That is a cherry.

5 I haven’t got an apple.

6 This is a strawberry.
