Aims:

• enrich pupil’s knowledge concerning the theme
• broaden your outlook in the music preferences;
• increase your awareness of music styles;
• develop pupils abilities in speech, reading, listening
• talk about different music styles;
• listen to the songs for specific information;
• act out role plays;
• practice showing interest when interacting orally;
• bring up the feeling of love to music.

I. Organization moment:

Today at the lesson we are going to revise the material connected with the topic “Music”. We’ll practice much in using vocabulary, listening, reading, acting out the conversation and working with interactive exercises.

II. Warm – up:

1. Let us play the game “The hidden treasure”. You are to guess a musical instrument, choose a proper letter from it and solve a riddle.

• Have you ever been to the concert?
• With whom did you go there?
• What did you like most of all?
• The concert of what band or singer would you like to visit?

2. Another task is connected with different quotes about the world of music – a game “Find a pair”. Your task is to match the expressions and to say, what quote is to your preference.

IV. The main part

1. Brainstorming

T: But what role does music play in your life?

P: Music helps us to live and learn.

T: What does music reflect?

P: It reflects our mood, our state of soul, our style of life.

T: Where can we hear music?

P: We can hear music everywhere: in concert halls, shops, on TV, over the radio, in the parks, at homes, in transport and even in the street.

T: What do you think about when you listen to music?

P: When I listen to music, I forget about everything.

P: When I listen to music, I want to sing and dance.

P: When I listen to music, it makes me think of happy and dark days.

P: When I listen to music, I dream about my future life.

P: When I listen to music, I see green forests, high mountains, deep sees and rivers.

T: And I fully agree with you. I see you are fond of music.

2. Revising the vocabulary

3. The lead singer was born in the family of professor of physics at May 14, 1975 in Lviv, Ukraine in the family of physics, future rector of Lviv University. He was an active member of the Orange Revolution, when were conducted performances on the Maidan, on the stage.

5. Was born Simferopol 21 April 1990. She gained fame after winning a series of Ukrainian and European vocal competitions. In 2016 he began a career of fashion designer. In Kiev, she started her solo career under the stage name “Marquis”. “Time and Glass Group” was born in 2010.  It was then that she decided to leave her solo career in favor of “Time and Glass” project.
6. She is a Ukrainian singer/songwriter and actress who found international success in 2016 after winning that year's Eurovision Song Contest. Born in 1983 to a Crimean Tatar father and an Armenian mother, began singing at the age of nine. She graduated from the Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, where she studied opera, but it was pop music that would prove to be her real calling.
