Тема заняття: В здоровому тілі – здоровий дух. Порівняння Present Simple/ Present Continious

 Мета освітня:  збагатити знання  студентів лексичними одиницями з теми «В здоровому тілі – здоровий дух»;

практична: розвивати навички читання на основі тексту «A sound mind in a sound body», де є відповідна додаткова інформація, обговорення якої планується на парі), ввести новий ЛМ та вчити вживати його у понадфразовій єдності; порівняти Present Simple/ Present Continious ;

 розвиваюча: розвивати логічне мислення та пам'ять, розвивати інтелектуальну гнучкість мислення.

виховна: виховувати культуру спілкування; формувати позитивні риси характеру: допитливість, наполегливість у подоланні труднощів, виховувати у студентів любов до англійської мови .

Тип заняття: застосування знань, формування вмінь і навичок.

I. Організаційний момент.

Good morning dear students, how are you Helen (Olga)? Did you have fun on your weekends? What did you do? Do you ready for the lesson? Who is absent today?

II. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

  • How are you?
  • Did you have nice holidays?
  • What day is it today?
  • What month is it now?
  • What season is it now?
  • What is the weather like today?
  • What date is it today?
  • 1. Today we shall speak about healthy way of life. People can work, learn and have fun only when they are healthy. Health is the man’s greatest wealth. It is very important to have good habits and exercise regularly.
  • 2. Look at the board. There are some proverbs on it. Find and read the proverb which we can use as the motto at our lesson.

1. Better late than never. 2. A sound mind in a sound body. 3. The best mirror is an old friend.

  • 3. Dear friends, don’t forget to put a dot on the sheet on the wall there. It will be your marks at the end of the lesson.

1. Have a healthy way of life… What does it mean?

3.3. Розвиток навичок аудіювання.

     Nowadays smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol among teenagers are very popular occupations. More and more young people are turning to drugs and alcohol. We must not be indifferent. We should struggle against these harmful habits because our society is in danger.
When I go out at weekends, there is a lot of pressure to drink and smoke. But "Every man is the architect of his own fortune", says the proverb. And I always remember this saying. I, personally, don`t smoke and don`t drink alcohol. I go in for sports. I know another proverb - "A sound mind in a sound body". That`s why, I prefer sport to alcohol and tobacco.
I spend a lot of time at the school sport ground. I regularly make new discoveries in myself when I am left alone with my will-power. I go in for sports because I am fond of being strong. Sport is my life. It is the choice of strong-willed people. Alcohol and drugs are for weak-willed ones.
Make your choice! Let your choice be right. Be strong. Overcome your laziness. Remember: "Idleness is mother of all vices". Give up bad habits. Go in for sports!

 

3.4 Розвиток навичок читання і перекладу

The text

To be healthy is very important. You can work, learn and have fun only when you are healthy. Health is the man’s greatest wealth.

People in all times understood how important food is. To be healthy you need vitamins and fibre. You should eat fruit and vegetable. The English say “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. It is because apples have vitamins and are good for your health. The most important vitamin is vitamin С. You can find it in lemons, oranges and even in cabbage. You can find fibre in plants.

But if you eat fruit and vegetables, it does not mean that you keep to a healthy diet. There are things you should not eat much. They are chocolate, pasta, cakes and sweets. They have much fat and sugar. This food gives a lot of energy. If you do not work it out, it becomes fat in your body.

If you eat sweet and fat food from time to time, you have to exercise regularly.

Маnу peoplе jog, walk or cycle in their free time. Physical exercises help you keep fit, have a good gait and figure. They also help you lose weight and work out energy. It is not good to be as thin as a stick, but extra weight can cause serious problems, such as heart problems and diabetes.

There are a lot of advertisements both on TV and in newspapers of different pills and drops which can help you become slim and slender in two weeks. But I know that to take medication without a doctor’s control is dangerous. Also I know that pills can not work a miracle.

There are also some bad habits, which can ruin your health. They are smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs. My parents do not smoke, and I do not smoke, either. I think these bad habits ruin health and show your weak character. Nowadays it becomes more and more popular to be healthy and slim. Yet everyone has to decide what he can do to be healthy. What do you do?

4. And now we’ll work with statements from the text and answer true or false.

5. There is a good question at the end of the text: “What do you do to be healthy?” We have spoken about it on the lesson and at home you have solved this problem.

Present continuous and present simple

Explanations Present continuous To talk about things happening at the moment, use the present continuous. Jim is watching television at the moment.

 Present simple To talk about habits and routines use the present simple.

  Things we do often, every day, every week, etc.

  Things that always happen. I arrive at school at 8.30. The first lesson starts at 8.45. The lesson finishes at 9.30.
