Тема:                            Youth Culture

Цілі

практична: вчити учнів висловлювати свої думки, згоду/ незгоду; вчити шукати розв’язання проблеми;

розвиваюча: розвивати навички непідготовленого мовлення, говоріння, аудіювання за темою уроку, розвивати мислення учнів шляхом використання елементів критичного мислення, розвивати здатність до узагальнення й аналізу, розвивати вміння створювати проекти й працювати в парах;

виховна: виховувати толерантність і поважне ставлення до чужої думки, інтерес до подальшого вивчення англійської мови;

освітня: сприяти формуванню відповідального ставлення до своїх обов’язків, вихованню волі, настирливості в подоланні життєвих труднощів, виховувати позитивну «я-концепцію».

Обладнання: малюнки із зображенням сучасної молоді (Scouts, Plast members, Goths, Punks, Hippie, Rappers, Bikers, Hell’s Angels), аудіозаписи: Beatles – “Yesterday”, Green Day “American Idiot”, gotic-rock, rap, Список проблем сучасних тінейджерів, Малюнок «Шкідливі звички».

Тип уроку: урок розвитку навичок говоріння з елементами методу проектів.

                                                    Хід уроку

І. Вступна частина.

1. Привітання і повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

T: - Good morning dear guests, children… Stop… It’s so interesting for me to know… Are you children or maybe grown-ups?

P-s: We are teenagers!

T: Any way I’m very glad to see you at our lesson Today we’ll discuss your life and your problems, youth subcultures and groups. You’ll show your knowledge on the topic. I hope that our lesson will be interesting for you. I wish you positive communication and active work.

Who is on duty today?

Who is absent?

2. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу. Комплімент другові.

T: Do you want to be successful in life? Your success depends greatly on your ability to be in a good mood, to be happy and give compliments to other people.

Give  a compliment to your friend.

3. Phonetic drills.

T: The motto of our lesson todayis Chinese proverb:

“ If you are planning for a year, sow rice,

If you are planning for a decade, plant trees,

If you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.”

We have a very important sound here [   ].

Repeat after me [   ]: planning, reading, speaking.

II.Основна частина уроку

1.Обговорення проблем сучасної молоді.

T: Answer the question and give reasons.

-Is it easy to be young?

T: In general life is not easy for all people living on the Earth and young people have problems too. Here are some of them:

-lack of time

-a lot of housework

- lack of money

-lack of independence

- a conflict between generations( misunderstanding between children and parents)

- emotional problems

-tens’ crimes

-young pregnancy

- bad habits- What are they?

P-s: Drinking alcohol, smoking, taking drugs.

T: As you see life is not easy and teenagers want to find their own way of life by joining to different subcutures and groups.

Can you tell me what youth subculture is?

When did the term appear?  Name some of them(use the pictures at the blackboard)

2. Перевірка домашнього завдання. Презентації учнів.

T: You prepared presentations about some of these groups. You’re welcome.

1.     Hippies

T: Do you know what is the symbol of hippies?

2.     Punks

What was the reason of punks’ appearing?

3.     Rappers

What do the oversized clothes mean?

3. Аудіювання.

T: Listen to the pieces of music and guess what subculture likes it.

4. Reading. “It Is Interesting to know”

Pre-reading activity

Why do teenagers join these subcultures, rganisations and groups?

What youth  organisation is very popular in Ukraine? What do you know about Plast members?

While –reading activity

Read and translate the main facts.

What was interesting for you ?

What impressed you most of all?
