Procedure

1. Lead-in: Different shops

1. Greeting.
2. Aims.

•        The topic for discussion today is “Shops and shopping”. It is very important in our life, so by the end of the lesson you should be able to talk about shopping for your family, to talk with shop-assistant and learn to behave  when doing shopping, to understand and reply appropriately.

3. Show the picture from any shop

• Where do you usually go shopping?

4. Mind Map

•                  What kinds of shops do you know? 

               SHOPS

5. Label the pictures

2. Listening

• Watch the video and try to find out answers to the questions

• Where are the people?
• What are they doing?

• How do you need to ask for things in the shops?
• How do you need to answer shop-assistant’s questions?

Teacher writes down these phrases and questions on the blackboard.

'Can I have …… please?'  'Excuse me, have you got any ………?'  Drill the questions.

• The customer-shopkeeper role play

• You’re going to do a role play to practice asking for things in shops. Half of you will be shopkeepers and the other half will be customers
• Before we do the customer-shopkeeper role play lets identify the items that the customers have to shop for.

Shopping lists- cut up and give one list per student.
