Тема. The national symbols of Ukraine.

Мета: вивчити й активізувати лексичні одиниці з теми “The national symbols of Ukraine”, підвищувати мотивацію учнів до вивчення іноземної мови;

розвивати мовну здогадку, розвивати навички колективної роботи, комунікативну культуру спілкування, розвивати логічне мислення, уяву;

виховувати почуття любові до рідного краю, гордості за свою країну; поглибити знання учнів про історичні та культурні пам’ятки нашої країни, поглибити знання учнів про свою країну англійською мовою.

Тип уроку: урок вивчення та первинного закріплення знань.

Методи і методичні прийоми: словесні (розповідь, бесіда), наочні (ілюстрації до теми), практичні (вправи, самостійна робота).

ФОПД: фронтальна, індивідуально-відокремлена, колективна (групова у парах).

Обладнання: мультимедійний пристрій, робочий зошит, портрет Т.Г.Шевченка, плакат з національними символами України, карта України, канцелярське приладдя, картка для самооцінювання.

Хід уроку

Організаційний етап.

T: Good afternoon, sweet hearts! Turn around and say words of greeting to our guests “Good afternoon, teachers”. Take your seats. There are different smiles on your desks. Choose one of them. If you’re fine choose the first smile, if you are interested in our lesson choose the second smile and if you are sad choose the third smile. Rise the smile of your own mood.

- How are you today?

- What is the weather like today?

- What is the day today?

I hope you are ready to start our lesson.

II. Перевірка домашнього завдання.

Your hometask for today was to do Ex.1, 2, p. 133 in the English book. Let’s check it.

III. Мотивація.

T.: What is the topic of our lesson? Look at the screen. What Ukrainian poet and writer can you see? This is the famous person of our Ukrainian literature.

Love Ukraine, love it like the sun,

Like the wind, and grass and water,

In the hour of happiness and in the time of joy,

And its language like that of the nightingale.

T.: What can you see?

P.: Ukraine and their national symbols.

T.: What are the national symbols of Ukraine? What do you know about them? What do they mean?

P.: Every country has its national symbols. They are very important for all the citizens of our country. And everybody must respect them.

P.: We were born in Ukraine, so we are Ukrainian children, the future of our wonderful country. That’s why we must proud of our nationality.

IV. Вивчення нового матеріалу.

T.: Look at the blackboard. Children, open your dictionaries and write down some new words. Well, as you see, today we’ll speak about Ukrainian symbols.

Vocabulary: the national flag, the trident, the Ukrainian anthem, language, ancient, cossack, famous, currency, hryvna, embroidered towel.
