Тема: Збираємось у подорож. Модальне дієслово should. Актуалізація вживання лексики в мовленні.

 

Мета:

• продовжувати удосконалювати техніку читання, перекладу й переказу текстів; розвивати діалогічне й монологічне мовлення;
• засвоєння та закріплення лексики по темі “ Travelling”, вживання модального дієслова should на письмі та в усному мовленні;
• розвивати мовленнєві здібності ( фонетичний та інтонаційний слух, логічне викладення думок), розвивати інтелектуальні і пізнавальні здібності;
• виховувати в учнів культуру спілкування, доброзичливості, активності, працьовитості та  позитивного ставлення до англійської мови.

 

Обладнання: дошка, підручник, комп’ютер, картки із завданнями.

Тип уроку: формування умінь і навичок.

The topic of our today’s lesson is “Travelling”. Today we’ll do different tasks. As we have already learned many words and about different ways of travelling you can show and use your knowledge. Слайд 1

 

So, by the end of the lesson you will be able to:

- recognize vocabulary related on the topic

                                - analyze given information

                                - explain the information received

                                - use modal verb should, shouldn’t

3. Warm-up.

This  house on wheels is running a race,

 When it is driven it goes,

 It is the fastest way of traveling. It can take you from one town to the other one in time. The seats are comfortable. That is a pity but sometimes you can see very little from the windows. The things are too small to see them. When the weather is rainy or foggy you can not travel by it. (A plane)

 

This way of traveling is fast. You can stop at any place you like and

go where you like. You need no tickets. Usually families go by it. ( a car)

 

This is the slowest way of traveling. Both young and old people like it. You need not worry about the tickets. The only thing you need is a rucksack. You can visit many places in such away. ( on foot)

 

This way of traveling is fast. The carriages are comfortable. It is so pleasant to travel in them. You can see a lot of interesting things from carriage windows. You can make a long journey on land by it. ( a train)

     Travelling is very popular nowadays. The best way to get to know and understand people is to meet them in their own homes. You can travel by plane, by train, by ship, by car or by bus. The fastest and the most comfortable way of travelling is by plane. But it is most boring way of travelling. When you get on the plane, the air hostess has to point to your seats. You can have an enjoyable time in comfortable armchairs. It is very expensive to travel by plane.

     Travelling by train is slower than by plane, but it has its advantages: you can see the country, there are sleepers and dining-cars in trains which make your journey enjoyable.

     The best way to learn more interesting things is to travel by bus. While travelling by bus you can see many places of interest, buildings, nature through the window.

     Travelling by car also has its advantages: you can stop wherever you wish, you can make your own time-table. Travelling by car is popular for pleasure trips while people usually take a train or a plane when they are on business.

     Some people like to travel by ship and enjoy a sea voyage. It is the best way to enjoy natural scenes.

At the airport

Jen: What's the first thing you want to do when we get to London, Mike?

Mike: I don't know. I really want to see the Tower of London and I suppose we have to go to Buckingham Palace as soon as possible.

Jen: I just hope the weather isn't too bad. My uncle went last year in August and he said it rained every day for a week.

Mike: I think it is going to be sunny this week so don't worry. Now where is our plane flying from? Do you know which gate we need to go to?

Jen: I really can't remember. Look, over there, there is one of those TV screens with all the flight departure information. Let's go and have a look at that. We still have a lot of time. Why do you always get so nervous at airports?

Mike: I'm not nervous Jen, I just don't want to be the last person getting on the plane. Remember last year going to Germany when everybody was waiting for us. That was so embarrassing.

Jen: OK, it's all up there, look. There are three flights to London. British Airways leaves at 10 o'clock, American Airlines also leaves at 10 o'clock and Air India leaves at 10 past 10. Who are we flying with? I know it's not Air India, is it?

Mike: American Airlines. We fly with them. So the departure is 10 o'clock but what gate is it? It says "please wait in departure lounge" up on the screen so I guess we have to just wait here.

Jen: That's very strange because the British Airways flight leaves at the same time, but Gate 7 is written up there.

Mike: I don't know, Jen. Maybe there's a problem but we don't have very long to wait.

Jen: Oh, look! Our flight information is there. We have to go to Gate 24, flight boards at 9.30.

Mike: Great! Now, where is gate 24? Is it on the eastern or the western side of the airport?

Jen: Look at that yellow sign. We have to catch the airport shuttle for all gates from 10 to 30.

Mike: Let's go ... that's the west of the airport and it takes about 10 minutes to get there.

Jen: We're going to London!
