A superlative adjective expresses the extreme or highest degree of a quality. Add - the + -est for the superlative. Short – the shortest. If the adjective has a consonant + single vowel + consonant spelling, the final consonant must be doubled before adding the ending. Big – the biggest. Adjectives with two syllables can form the superlative by preceeding the adjective with the most. Dangerous – the most dangerous. Irregular. Bad – the worst. Far – the furthest. Good – the best
