Мета: 

Навчальна:

• повторити  лексичні одиниці  теми  « Різдво», систематизувати їх   при  виконанні усних  та  письмових  вправ;
• тренувати вживання прийменників на позначення часу: on, in, at;
• вдосконалювати навички читання, говоріння, аудіювання;

Розвиваюча:

• розвивати логічне мислення, уяву, пам’ять учнів, спостережливість;

Виховна:

• виховувати почуття прекрасного, повагу до культури та традицій інших народів

Очікувані результати:

Після проведення уроку

учні знають:

• слова теми «Різдво»;
• як святкують Різдво у Великій Британії;

учні вміють:

• організовувати  робоче місце;
• висловлювати свою думку по темі;
• порівнювати та аналізувати;
• знаходити інформацію про Різдво;
• доповнювати речення прийменниками часу in, on, at.

Обладнання: Підручник 5 клас А. Несвіт, робочий зошит, роздатковий матеріал, презентація в програмі Microsoft Power Point , ноутбук .

T: Good morning, dear children! Glad to see you! Last time we spoke a lot about holidays in Ukraine. Today we’ll speak a beautiful holiday which is loved by children and adults. All the tasks will be connected with this holiday. I hope you’ll enjoy our English lesson. Please, be active, sociable and friendly to each other. (Слайд 1)

2.             Гра “ What holiday is this?”

T: Well, children, I am sure you already know  popular holidays, now listen to me attentively and give the name of the holiday which I describe – guess the riddles.(Слайд 4-9)

1. It is the most important holiday in our country. It is in spring. People have street parades in the afternoon and set off fireworks when it is dark. (Victory Day)

2. People decorate the houses with bright lights and ornaments. They exchange postcards and gifts. Children like this holiday very much, because they always find presents early in the morning. (Christmas)

3. The traditional colors of this holiday are orange, black and yellow. Children dress up in costumes of skeletons, goblins, black cats and spiders. There are many jack-o-lanterns in the streets when it is dark. (Halloween)

4. People send special cards to someone they love. Usually they don’t sign their names. (St Valentine’s Day)

5. At this holiday in England schools close for two weeks. People give each other chocolate eggs. (Easter)

6. It is in March. It is for women. They usually get flowers and presents from husbands and children. (Mother’s Day)

Today we are going to speak about special days and about celebrating Christmas in Great Britain. You will read and discuss texts, practice new grammar rules, do many exercises and practice your speaking skills. Let's start our lesson.

CHRISTMAS

Christmas Day is a happy holiday for a lot of people in different countries. Every year there is a very big Christmas Tree in the centre of London, in Trafalgar Square. This Tree is a present to Great Britain from Norway .

People of Norway send it to Londoners every year.

     Before Christmas people buy presents and a lot of food and drink for their parties. On Christmas morning people open their presents and say 'thanks' to their members of family and friends.

      The Queen's speech is on TV at 3.00 p.m. On Christmas people wish a merry Christmas to each other.

      They eat Christmas turkey, potatoes and green vegetables for Christmas Dinner. And they have the Christmas pudding for the dessert.

     They like to have a Christmas cake for tea at five o'clock.

    After Christmas comes Boxing Day. On this day people usually visit their relatives and friends.
